Coal has been a great beneficial gift to mankind, since it was left behind, after Noah’s Flood buried masses of wood and vegetable matter, about 2,948 years ago. Since you discovered how to burn it, it has heated your homes, driven railway engines and powered your electrical generating plants. The resulting emission of Carbon Dioxide has even enhanced plant growth, (see PS note at bottom of this Blog from Dr Don Batten).

I suggest that your Government get started on building some more coal fired generators before Australia runs out of affordable energy.

Your Government is in deep trouble obsessing about which beds are allowed to be slept in and with whom each person should sleep, in Canberra – and arguing about which loos gender-confused humans should use.

If you carry on like this you’ll be staggering around in the dark, unable to see anything or find each other anyway.

I thank God for my Zoo. May the lights remain on and the systems working. Even we un-evolved Chimps know how to cook. Keep the home fires burning!

PS: I was very encouraged to receive an e-mail from my most learned reader Don Batten, in response to this, who has a real University Ph.D degree, as follows:

30% of plant production is due to the increase in carbon dioxide since the industrial revolution (a Nature paper last year). This is feeding 30% of the humans and animals on planet Earth. Far from being a pollutant, CO2 is ‘greening’ the planet.
