It was heartening to hear rain last night beating on the roof of our zoo compound. Rain is indeed a wonder! Those tiny drops of water descending from the lofty skies and bringing forth life, wending their way to the mighty oceans of the earth, and then beginning their ascent again!

Apparently, the rain falls “On the Just and the Unjust” (Matthew 5:45). I guess that means on Chimps, Chihuahuas, Ducks and Elephants – even Human Beings!

“Drop down, ye heavens, from above, and

Let the earth open, and let them bring forth salvation,

and

Let righteousness spring up together;

I the Lord have created it”.

Even The Almighty uses the analogy of rain falling from the skies in this magnificent prayer from The Prince of Prophets (Isaiah 45:8) as he longs for not just Rain, but Righteousness to descend to this sadly unrighteous Earth.
