This short homily highlights the fact that the world has not evolved into some better state, rather it continues in a death spiral increasing in speed as ignorant humans reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ, BUT there is still hope – read on…..

Remember The Good Old Days?
In I966, a horse could be purchased in Australia for about $50, and a bale of hay was $I and brand-new Holden sedans were in the $2,000 range to buy. Petrol was 5-7 cents per litre and so you could fill up your car for less than $4.
Also in I966, new house and land packages in Sydney were between $I4,000 to $20,000, with cheaper prices in the outer suburbs.
By I986, petrol had risen to around 40-50 cents per litre and by 2006 it reached about $I per litre. Then during the recent fuel crisis of 2026, petrol climbed as high as $2.70 per litre in some Australian cities, with even higher prices in rural areas.
The Bad News:
No one knows how high inflation and living costs will rise in the years ahead. More Australians each year are struggling to afford fuel, food, housing, and everyday necessities. The world is increasingly unstable, and our earthly securities are becoming uncertain.
The Good News:
There is no inflation in Heaven! No rising cost of living. No fuel shortages, nor housing crisis and no financial worries. In Heaven there is perfect provision and everlasting peace in the presence of God our Creator. All the needs of those who belong to Jesus Christ are fully supplied forever.
The Bible says, “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:I9)
In a world of uncertainty and rising prices, every person needs to remember that Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for our salvation. He died on the cross for our sins, rising again on the third day so that we could have forgiveness, eternal life and a home in Heaven with Him.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
In these uncertain times, God not only offers eternal life through Jesus Christ to those who believe in Him, but He also invites us to trust Him for our daily needs.
“He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?” (Romans 8:32)
