NO ONE SHOULD BE OFFENDED
Our zoo lecture yesterday was titled “No one should be offended”. Rather topical in these days of political correctness. One of the key points made was that today’s humans do not use language properly. Often they mean “I don’t agree with that”. instead they cry “I’m offended”. We learned that the truth is offensive to those who reject it.
It is hard for a monkey, even an apparently evolving one like me, to grasp that the Christian Faith is grounded. It is exclusive. It makes profound claims to be true. Jesus Christ Himself said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 14:6
So, you should get over being offended, it is a health hazard that could lead to spiritual death, and that may last forever.

Yesterday, I happened to walk past the lecture you and other chimps were listening to at the zoo, and it was fascinating to hear from the discussion how much THE truth is being pushed aside nowadays. It seems too many people are constructing their own “truth”, which is subjective…and not evaluating life events by the external standard of truth which God gave us in His Word.
It reminds me of the truthful observation of our human nature given in 2 Timothy 4:3….
“For the time is coming when men will not tolerate wholesome teaching. They will want something to tickle their own fancies, and they will collect teachers who will pander to their own desires. They will no longer listen to the truth, but will wander off after man-made fictions. ”
Now, ain’t that the truth about today!
