HE HAS RISEN!

Two questions we must ask and answer on this Resurrection morning:

·        “Why do you look for the living among the dead?  He is not here, BUT has risen”!  

Jesus’ resurrection from the dead was not a resuscitation to His earthly life, but rather a glorification into a new life, and the amazing, wonderful thing is that God wants to do the same for the likes of us. However, to get that NEW LIFE we must stop clinging to the OLD LIFE – stop looking for the living among the dead; stop looking for this new life in the tomb of this sinful world. Only when we have died to ourselves can we receive the promise of a new life that will never die.

·        “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven!”

To believe in our Lord’s resurrection is to also believe in His imminent return. Beloved, the answer to our sin-saturated society is not a political restoration, or even a spiritual reformation, but rather a complete restoration of the way it was in the beginning, and that transformation will occur when Jesus sets His feet down on the Mt. of Olives. Long for it!
