No doubt about it…the Americans are a creative lot! Plenty of lateral thinking going on in some quarters to ensure corporate worship happens.
I guess the Body of Christ..His church…is a prime big target of our spiritual enemy. Satan would love to see the church shut down and made impotent. The same happened back in Nehemiah’s day, when his work of building the all-important wall around Jerusalem was deliberately being hindered by Sanballat and his mates (Nehemiah 6). Thankfully, Nehemiah discerned their evil intentions, and he told them “I am carrying on a great project and cannot go down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and go down to you?”
Nothing’s changed over the millennia! Lies and deceit are rampant. For us believers, asking God to help us discern lies and deceit is so necessary today. And discernment starts with regular feeding on God’s Word…to strengthen our understanding. So, we “put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.”(Ephesians 6).
