Gibber! Chugley Hey Chugley, On Sunday I walked into Melbourne’s CBD and found proud Australians smuggling our national flag into our own city. One woman, decked out head to toe in the Australian flag, admitted she’d walked in alone and was “quite scared.” Another kept their flag covered the whole way, because “you just don’t know who the hell’s around.” When I asked one bloke how it felt to hide the Aussie flag in Melbourne in 2026, he didn’t even blink: “It’s atrocious, mate.” On the other side of the city, counter-protesters were waving Palestinian flags and calling this crowd racist. The counter-protest wasn’t nearly as friendly, and in my next report you’ll see exactly why I need so much security just to do my job.
