ANZACS NOT ALL BISCUITS
The zoo is always very busy on Anzac day, and it prompted me to apply a new angle of thought, as I battle to cope with my ongoing evolution towards full humanity. Some of the visitors looking into my sanctuary here don’t look that evolved either, all mesmerised by their mobile phones. One wonders how they would have handled Gallipoli phone-less? Remember, I have only received a partial download of human attributes so far – I am not yet convinced that I am totally evolving, it may be just a “jumping gene” anomaly that has captured part of my Chimp psyche. I am horrified to read of the dreadful things your brave ANZACS had to endure, but they seemed to have had steadfast convictions seldom seen in this day and age of “inclusive” behaviour.
Again, I must tell you, I find that your Bible is most helpful enlightening me about human life. Notice Paul says in Ephesians 6:12:
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places”.
This seems to indicate, to my semi-evolved monkey mind, that the battles you are facing today are not as straightforward as those faced by your heroic ancestors. Just my point of view on this ANZAC day to rattle your cage.

Interesting that one of the main legacies of ANZAC is the power of “sacrifice”. Just this morning I read Isaiah 53, in which the prophetic events of Jesus’ crucifixion are foretold. Like you Chugley, I was struck not only by the physical suffering, but by the even more profound spiritual battle Jesus waged on that Cross…and His determination to be the sacrifice, the solution, that would enable a restoration of fellowship with God, our Creator. “Sacrifice” is one powerful expression of love that Satan can never understand.
This concept of Satan is very hard for my Chimp mind to grasp Paul. It seems few of you humans believe he is real these days. On studying the Bible, I think he is very real, I only have to look outside my Sanctuary here at the zoo to observe his handywork parading by every day. I do find the explanation of Jesus’ sacrifice utterly convincing also. I saw David Speers questioning the point of the ANZAC sacrifice with a French official on Sky News last evening, incredibly short memories some Australians have, the Frenchman corrected him splendidly and thanked the Aussies for what they did in France in WW1. Tres Magnifique! Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
