PASTOR WAYNE WRITES:
April 24, 2026
As we continue our sermon series through the Apostle’s Creed, we have come to that phrase, “From thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.” According to Hebrews 9:27, the Bible says, “And it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” Plainly stated, every person, regardless of status, wealth, or power, will face their inevitable date with death, followed by God’s divine judgment.
· Those who receive Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord will stand before the “Judgment Seat of Christ,” to give account of the days of their lives, and then, to receive their crowns and rewards.
· Those who refused to receive Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord will stand before the Lord at the “Great White Throne Judgment,” to be judged by their works, as well as their lack of faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord.
We encourage you to review the attached study guide and share it with others who may benefit.

THE WATCHMEN’S REPORT
News Stories that Connect with Biblical Prophecy
By Wayne J. Edwards, April 25, 2026
My Fellow Watchmen,
In my own personal battle with bouts of depression, I’ve discovered the Devil’s deadly “D’s,” and ranked them in order of their attack:
· Disappointment: Often the first step, leading to discouragement when expectations go unmet.
· Discouragement: A primary attack designed to make Christians give up, often leading to dejection.
· Doubt/Disbelief: Questioning God’s promises or truth.
· Distraction/Division: Diverting focus from God or causing conflict among believers.
· Deception/Demoralization: Twisting truth to lead individuals away from faith.
Beloved, the devil can use these deadly weapons to paralyze believers and keep us from pursuing God’s purpose for our lives. Perhaps the greatest “tool” at the devil’s disposal today is the media, especially digital platforms that allow the sharing of group opinions. Satan uses these tools to “distract” us from direct conversation with those we love. Research indicates that high, habitual use of social media platforms like Facebook, Snapchat, and TikTok is significantly associated with increased risks of depression, anxiety, and lowered self-esteem.
Recently, while Linda and I were enjoying a meal at a local restaurant, we saw what we assumed was a father and a son at a nearby table. The son was constantly looking down, even when the waiter served his meal, and we finally realized he was looking at his phone. Even though his dad had his phone on the table, every bite was followed by another look at it. For over an hour, there was no verbal conversation between the two, and that is so sad. A study of 1,787 adults (ages 19-32) found a strong association between high social media use and depression.
The J. B. Phillips paraphrase of Romans 12:2 reads: “Don’t let the world squeeze you into its mold, but let God re-mold your minds from within, so that you may prove in practice that the plan of God for you is good, meets all his demands and moves towards the goal of maturity.”
Please share these news articles with those in your community or network who would benefit from this information, and encourage them to stay vigilant and discerning.
