Aesop’s fables, anyone?
I was heartened to receive Don Batten’s e-mail this morning describing his recent encounter with a questioning Christian.

I do find my studies take me to obscure backwaters of human thought. Don certainly has hit one here when a member of his audience says, “What has evidence got to do with Christian Faith?” This was in response to a presentation by Don showing how the real events of Creation, the Fall and the Flood, relate to the Gospel. Don likened the man’s disassociation of Faith and Reason to the Queen’s comment in Alice through the Looking Glass, “Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast“.
In all areas of Life, we have faith which is based on reason. I eat bananas because I have evidence that they are beneficial to my health – and I enjoy them.
Christians have a rational belief in an All-Powerful, All-Holy and All-Loving Creator who has done all that could be done to give evidence of that power and holiness and love. They are lovers of Truth – or should be!
Gibber! Gibber!
