WISDOM
‘True wisdom is not proportional to the number of college degrees people may possess, the eloquence of their speech, their mastery of debate or the number of acclaimed books they may have published. It is found in those who, although insignificant in this world’s estimation, “fear the LORD” (Psalm 111:10; Proverbs 1:7, 9:10) – those who embrace, rather than reject, His word.’

I have just completed reading it and highly recommend it!
There was no post yesterday, I had to visit the vet for a check up. N.B. I am still allowed to eat bananas…

Hi Chugley, so pleased to hear that the vet. gave you a “pink slip”. So you should be good for another few years. You mention wisdom; some of the wisest people I have known did not have degrees or doctorates. They had “nouse”, also known as common sense ( in very short supply) and a real sense of right and wrong. I heard a lay preacher once say; “too many people are educated far beyond their intelligence”. Wisdom is “approving, having or showing the ability to make good judgments, based on a deep understanding and experience of life:” Pity more of our pollies did not have a real experience of life, they might better understand their role.
You make excellent points Milton, the Chimps and Mandrills would make a much better job of running things. I don’ think too much of this evolution lark myself. Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
What a fine couple “wisdom” and “understanding” make…and together they make a “straight” path in life. “Understanding” implies the apprehension of knowledge, and “wisdom” the good application of knowledge. Wisdom is good….but with sanctified knowledge, it is even better, and deeper, I think.
Thank you, Paul, for your edifying comment! It certainly makes this old monkey muse about the deeper meaning of life – and what it means to be fully human! Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
