WHAT ARE FRACTALS?
Many of my readers are wondering what I learned at Keeper Barry’s tutorial yesterday. It practically fried my monkey brain trying to comprehend this lesson. It caused me to have grave doubts about my evolutionary progress from chimpanzee to human. The following statement and link will tell you all about this extraordinary discovery, made possible by the computer, and mirrored in the universe, by such amazing designs as Spiral Galaxies, ferns and broccoli.
The Mandelbrot Set is the set of complex numbers for which the function does not diverge when iterated from, i.e., for which the sequence, etc., remains bounded in absolute value. Its definition and name are due to Adrien Douady, in tribute to the mathematician Benoit Mandelbrot.
The Mandelbrot Set is an insight into the mind of The Infinitely Expansive and Infinitely Minute Creator.

Well, you did ask! I am still trying to comprehend the information.

I also dropped by the zoo to hear about the awesome, unchanging and beautiful patterns and relationships that are called “fractals” – the mathematics within the structure of the Universe. As you mentioned, Chugley…it reveals our Creator God in the most micro and also macro ways….His Mind and character. As His Word says in Psalm 119:89 – “Forever, O Lord, your word is firmly fixed in the heavens.” I think fractals are part of “His word”.
Thank you Paul. It was a stunning presentation, I am still trying to grasp it all..Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
Oh Chugley, that’s just fascinating. Thank you for sharing.
Now I’m wondering how my cash book numbers might relate. If I zoom in will they too go on infinitely? Could be difficult to make an end-of-year balance!! Will I have to keep doing this for eternity to find that balance. Aaaarrgh!
Oh, and I love his thought on the idea of finding the act of stubbing my toe being the most wonderful experience of my life. Can’t wait for the next time to see if he’s right. Heh, heh.
If I could answer that I would not be in the zoo Paul! Gibber! Gibber! Chugley.
