Many of the honourable pioneers you mentioned above would turn in their graves at the decline of honourable, principled behaviour in our society. It would be interesting to examine just why this so, but I suspect the pushing aside of God as a foundation for goodness, truth, purity and integrity would be a big factor.
” The apostle Paul said, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things and the God of peace will be with you” “(Philippians 4:8).
I agree Paul, the more I consider the human condition, the more I find that your book the Bible makes perfect sense. You humans are so pig headed on the whole you won’t heed its wisdom. Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
