TRILLIONS AND BILLIONS
Check your knowledge, Human.
If someone offers to pay you in a million seconds, that means 12 days. But then things can get rather mystifying. (Perhaps this is why your banking system is haywire?)
One Million seconds is 12 days
One Billion seconds is 32 years
One Trillion seconds is 32 thousand years
To lose a Trillion dollars you would need to lose a million dollars a day from the time of Jesus’ birth and wait until 2737.
Food for thought? Or Gibberish?
Gibber! Gibber!

Wow, a chimp that can count!
Evolution you know Peter? Gibber! Gibber!
Hi Chugley – Tossing around these huge figures like billions and trillions is almost impossible for us to comprehend. Thanks for those examples of “time” you gave. When Arthur Stace (The “Eternity” man from Sydney) became a Christian, he was overwhelmed by the concept of God inhabiting “eternity” (Isaiah 57:15), and also that he himself would enjoy eternal life. This led to his famous chalk handwriting of “eternity” on the footpaths of Sydney back in the 1950’s and ’60’s. It’s a concept hard to get one’s mind around!
Very true Paul. I find it even more difficult to grasp when I visualise distances our planet is from the nearest star. Kind of makes gibberish of the phrase “just down the road”. Gibber! Gibber!
Wow!! Sure puts meaning to; when the wife says, come and do the washing and I reply”Just a second”. . And give me an answer to this in three seconds, then think about it and let me know if you want to change your mind. ” You go to have new shoes on your horse. The ‘smithy’ said, $185; or; 1 cent for the first nail and double the answer each following nail.” ( For those not ‘brung-up’ in the bush, a horse shoe has 6 nails.) No monkey business.
Time sure is a consuming puzzle for my monkey mind Milton. Why does a clock run at a different speed on the top of Mount Everest than at sea level? Einstein expressed it by an equation, somehow it is related to speed and gravity, I am still figuring!
Have a great Christmas, maybe time will seem to stand still for a day? Gibber! Gibber!
