Albert Einstein said, “God did not create evil. Just as darkness is the absence of light, evil is the absence of God.”
Many Christians are complaining about the complete disregard for morality and righteousness in our world today, and rightfully so. However, the rise in man’s sinfulness is not due to the increasing presence of darkness, but the decrease in the presence of light. A Person is following after God in the pursuit of righteousness, or they are following after Satan in the pursuit of unrighteousness, for there is no amoral middle, and the sooner today’s generation of Christians understand that, the more powerful we will be in making a difference in our culture.
The title of this sermon is: Developing a Biblical Worldview, “The Origin of Evil”

Einstein’s quote “God did not create evil. Just as darkness is the absence of light, evil is the absence of God” reminds me of atheists’ misunderstanding of “hell” only being “where God sends you for punishment”.
If only they, and the world generally, would understand that “hell” is the result of their wilful decision to separate themselves from the God who loves them….who sustains them with daily requirements for life, refreshment and beauty…and who wants them to be with Him forever in the “light” of goodness, loveliness and righteousness with Him.
It’s no wonder that the biblical description of those who have chosen to reject God’s love will be “weeping and gnashing of teeth” after the Judgement, and tragically “darkness” is their lot.
Great comment – Thanks! Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
