Bud Hancock has sent me his latest article explaining the relevance of Israel in Scripture. This is in Bud’s extremely lucid and easy to grasp style. Believe it or not many in the Church are ignorant of Israel being the “Apple of God’s eye”. “For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of His eye.” Zechariah 2:8 GIbber! Gibber! Chugley Why is Israel Special? By Bud Hancock Introduction God has always had a plan for the world, and fortunately for us, He shared His plan in His word. If anyone is unaware of His plan, it is NOT God’s fault. In sharing the plan, we can rest assured that He wants us to know it, and we need to understand the importance of it. There are some who seem to believe we do not need to know His plan in great detail. After all (as I’ve heard many Christians say), God is sovereign and can do exactly what He wants, whether or not we are aware of what He is doing. They seem to be saying that God always gets exactly what He wants, but that is a gross exaggeration. He did NOT want His human creation to fail and present all mankind with no hope for a future relationship with Him. Even before He created (actually RE-created), the earth, with all its many beauties and wonders, He knew that His humans, His ultimate creation, created in His own image, would fail. God created everything in the beginning for what we assume was a semi-tropical type climate. Many creatures we see today, e.g. penguins, are designed specifically to live in freezing conditions. Could this come about through natural selection or were they created as we see them today? If so how would they have survived in a warm world? CMI Australia’s Andrew Lamb responds: Dear Bruce We can reasonably deduce that God created the original specimens of each animal kind with a great range of latent genetic variety within their genomes. One could say the original animals were ‘pluripotent’, with the potential for great variety, or even ‘totipotent’, holding the total possible variety for that creature (though more variety did arise later through degenerative mutation). After the Flood, as the animals dispersed around the world from the mountains of Ararat, they adapted to the many niche environments in the harsher post-Flood world. This adaptation is not ‘evolution’ because it involves losing, through natural selection, those genetic traits unsuited to a particular environment.Penguins do not exclusively live in freezing environments. Chugley The Christian Quest JULY 20, 2022 by Thomas Achord From the heights of the New York Times, a watchman named Tim Gruber has espied out upon the fringes of the liberal-democratic wastes a rowdy band of “Far Right Christians” in a “Quest For Power”. Grubbs intends it as a warning, but this sounds like the beginning of a really rad story. Tim is afraid that the Global American Empire (GAE) is under attack by radical right-wing “christo-fascist” extremists. He’s probably upset that they’re having fun, too.  I was going to write an article about the contradictions in Grubbers’ piece, but I instead thought it more enjoyable to lean into his fears and mock his alarmism, for the fact that the great Tower of The New York Times even notices our mannerbund of ruddy warriors betrays their weakness. Tim calls us conspiracy theorists – a worn phrase that induces yawns. Such has always been the complaint of critics and skeptics.  Yet, Christ’s resurrection was the first Christian “conspiracy theory”, in the eyes of the antiChrist Jews and pagan Romans. It was a lie that Jesus was the Christ. It was domestic terrorism that this God-Man was King. And it was an insidious conspiracy that this King had risen from the dead. But it was all true, and Jesus also ascended into heaven and sat down at his Father’s right hand until all enemies will be made as a footstool under his feet. Enemies, like, say Grubbs here. By Bud Hancock “The elder unto the well-beloved Gaius, whom I love in the truth.  Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth”  (3 John:1-2 KJV) A very short English 101 lesson here: the word “as” in this passage does not appear in the original Greek text, rather the word in the Greek is kathos (Strong’s 2531, pronounced cath-oce’) and the most commonly accepted meanings are, ‘according to’, ‘in the same manner as’, ‘in the same way as’. The writer is both separating the physical part of man from the soulish part, but is also tying them together so that the prospering of both parts must be accomplished by, and coming from, the same source.  That source is faith and no one receives anything from God aside from faith, whether spiritual salvation, physical prosperity or soul prosperity. Man is a triune being, meaning he IS a spirit, he HAS a soul and he lives IN a body. The soul of a man is made up of his mind, his will and his emotions. When God created man, He made Him in his Own image, after His Own likeness (Genesis 1:26 KJV), but what does this mean? We see many humans who are of varying shapes, sizes and colors, with varying hair and eye colors, so does this mean that God has multicolored skin, eyes and hair? Of course not. Chugley The Tongue, A Spiritual Delivery System By Bud Hancock Introduction If you have allowed yourself to be convinced, or possibly convinced yourself, that words, especially your words, don’t matter, you are well on your way to being a helpless patsy.  Strong words, right?  They are meant to be due to the serious nature of being ignorant of God’s word.  Don’t get me wrong, ignorance is not a sin, but when ignorance is chosen over knowledge, it can and will seriously affect anyone.   Humans differ from animals in many ways but possibly the most important difference is our ability to communicate using words.  Words, whether spoken or written,  are outward expressions of thought.  Words, when spoken or written, bring into the open the hidden, unseen thoughts and ideas that are constantly forming in the human mind and/or being stored in the memory.  The human brain is a magnificent computer that a person uses to form ideas, solve problems or communicate with others. The True Source of Words It is nearly impossible to overstate the value of words, especially when they are joined together with either true, living and aggressive faith, or overpowering fear.  Remember in the Genesis account of the creation, when God had something that was in a spiritual form that He wanted to manifest into a physical form, what did He do?  Read the entire first chapter of Genesis and count how many times God said, “Let something be”; every time He did so, that which had been in spiritual form…
