TALL STORY
Algy Two has been busy this week clearing blocked drains and dealing with electrical problems around the zoo. It seems he is managing to progress with his book of anecdotes. One of the many things he is writing about is the time he says he was training to fly the Vulcan V bomber. I have already featured the Vulcan on my site, but this story about the Vulcan’s one and only taste of action was in the Falklands war. This clip is well worth watching. I often have my doubts about Algy’s fanciful tales, but at least they are interesting. Long may he continue to keep my compound operational, how he ended up in the zoo here intrigues me no end.

Just out of curiosity, a few weeks ago I went onto Google Maps and browsed around the Falklands area..especially around the capital, Stanley. I noticed the RAF has an air base about 40 kms out of the capital…in what appears to be a very remote area. I wonder how the young airmen based there handle the remote-ness…so far away from normal entertainment and the bright lights of city life?
Training and dedication Paul! Gibber! Gibber! Chugley (They will make up for it when they get home though!)

What an aircraft, maybe it even beats the Spitfire?
Well it is a bit different! But it is one of my favourites! Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
