STEPHEN HAWKING, ORIGINATOR OF THE BLACK HOLE THEORY
Stephen Hawking, renowned scientist, is dead at 76 years of age. He showed great courage in fighting a form of motor neuron disease since 1963 and was a devout atheist. This monkey has studied much of his work in my quest into understanding human evolution. No joy there. I was intrigued to find that Stephen married Jane Wilde in July 1965, the couple had three children. Jane was also a science graduate and a devout Christian; they divorced in 1990 and Stephen married his nurse, Elaine Mason, in 1995. It is not for this monkey to moralise on this unique man who held the same position as that giant of a Christian believer, Sir Isaac Newton, at Cambridge University. I do find it curious though that someone with such a brilliant mathematical mind would entirely dismiss the One who formulated mathematics in the beginning, quietly, devoid of bangs. My readers will enjoy the article on Stephen Hawking by Jonathan Sarfati to be found at:

I’ll look forward to reading the article you mentioned. We have a close friend in Sydney who has a PhD from Sydney Uni in applied Maths (astronomy). I remember him telling me some years ago that the whole Universe is very “mathematical” in its design, order and intricacy. It seems our Creator’s favourite subject is Maths…with Science a close second!!
Maths does seem to indicate wonderful design evident in our Universe…take a banana for instance, can you lot design one? Chugley
A remarkable man, tho’ in my opinion. a little misguided. Tho’ he has now got the answer to his theory. For me, I am content with the “no big bang, just a Mighty word” theory.
Profound comment, if I might say so Milton, thank you! Chugley
Stephen was a highly intelligent man who gave science, yet with no acknowledgement of the creator he lacked wisdom. I feel sad that he would now know the creator but not be able to change his mind 😕
Glad to see you are back from your camping excursion Peter. Stephen was very intelligent and brave, let us hope God is merciful to him. Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
