TRUMPETING THE ROYAL WEDDING
Harry and Megan’s wedding made Saturday a very joyful evening at the Zoo. As a serious student monkey I like seeing History being made. I notice that Charles Darwin, that well-known promoter of strange theories, was not so long ago stating that people with darker skins were not as far “evolved” as those with lighter skins… Well anybody watching the wedding could see that he got that one wrong. The Lord Himself must surely have been pleased to see His name Honoured during this event. Meghan Markle simply sparkled as the star she is, and brought a new dimension to the always gracious British Royal Family. I was particularly touched that she continued to honour the tradition of sending her wedding bouquet to rest on The Tomb of the Unknown Warrior in Westminster Abbey. A tradition begun by the Queen Mother in 1923, I believe!
Hip, Hip, Hurray!

I must say that this viewer was all “weddinged out” by mid morning on the Saturday. Non stop drivel emanating from all the local t.v. stations. Re-hashes of re-hashes.
Well this viewer returned home in the evening just in time to see Harry and his best man walking down the hill on a lovely clear day going to church. So I decided to watch for a little while over a cup of tea. I am glad that I did. It was so well done. The beautiful choral music in the beginning, the clarity of the words of the archbishops, the sermon deviating off the usual path. (God guided). The soul song, the cello player, the beauty and pageantry and the Amen song at the end of the service. A well spent hour.
As my old mother used to say, if you have nothing “nice” to say, keep your mouth shut! “Nice” Comment Sydneysider, thank you. Chugley
What Sydney-Sider said was duplicated across the USA too. The live service, then re-runs multiplied several times. How good to hear the Episcopalian Bishop declaring to hundreds of millions of viewers the Gospel of Jesus…it’s all about love, sacrificial love.
Thanks Paul, our travelling correspondent, look out for those volcanoes…Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
The Wedding. What a great affair that was. Brilliant day, I didn’t know the old Brit had those, and everything well planned and executed. Sorry, but one of the really good bits, was all those lovely ‘motors’, as they call them. ‘Specially the Jag. And then, when the Bishop got into full song, I felt like yelling, “sock it to ’em”, which he did. A great sermon to the greatest congregation ever. If only those who heard it could embrace the love of God, what a different world it would be. I feel it would filter to the zoo too.
Amen to all of that Milton, I am certain that it would filter through to the zoo, as you say! Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
When England turns on good weather they really appreciate it Milton! Like you, I reckoned it was a Ripper! Gibber! Gibber! God Save the Queen (the Windsor one). Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
