Monday saw the unofficial start of the Election campaign in Australia. The zoo was pleased to see Rowan Dean back with The Outsiders, assisted by Rita Panahi and James Morrow – sadly now only on Sunday mornings! (Is this a sign of ‘Lefty Luvvies’ stacking the odds?) Hopefully, Rowan will be given an airing on such programmes as The Bolt Report and Paul Murray Live. He has a rare ability to pinpoint the absolute craziness of not having coal or nuclear power stations in Australia where the best coal and uranium are found in abundance. His knowledge of the truth about Climate Change is exceptional and his analysis of Left Wing irrationality is always astute. (How will the campaign go if the power is shut off?)

Already we are seeing craziness elsewhere! The evergreen, and ever-lovely Kerri-Anne Kennerley received the ultimate rebuke for making perfectly valid statements about the plight of Aboriginals. She was condemned as ‘A Racist’! (Such is the turgid condition of our current river of opinions!)

One could also be forgiven for thinking that Global Warming is a proven fact, by listening to a straight-faced Kerryn Phelps, Member for Wentworth, pontificating about the catastrophe facing the planet because of the Climate Change Hoax. ( cannot see a single ecclesiastical Primate entering the fray; I remain the sole Primate, watching from the trees.)

Oh, Happy Days! I hope that some common sense will win out. I was heartened to see that the Coalition has increased its popularity a little in the latest polls. But it is certainly not enough of a boost to persuade me to leave my compound. If Bill Shorten wins, I am concerned he may reduce the quality of the zoo, and cut the air-conditioning.
