PAPER RAIDS
Algy has come up with another of his (apparently) tall stories. He tells us that whilst in the Royal Air Force pilots would conduct “bog paper raids” on neighbouring Royal Air Force airfields. They would jam as many rolls as they could fit in the flaps mechanism. Take-off speed and length of roll would be somewhat increased with “no flap” . Then they would fly, at low level, to the unsuspecting airfield and select “flaps down”, thus releasing the rolls. This was a novel use of Government property. (Each sheet of these rolls had “Government Property” printed on it.) And to think such a man is entrusted to look after me!

Dear Chugley. I guess that story is the ‘original paper chase’.
Of course in recent days, the rolls were going out of stores so fast that the same could have occurred by the ‘flap’ that the customers were in. What a senseless panic. Not sure if chimps use paper, guess not, look how peaceful the Zoo was. Is it possible to de-evolve from human to chimp. Worth investigating. A thought for the day: “Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, every where you go; He’s the one who will keep you on track” Proverbs 3:5
Some wise advice here Milton. Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
With the shenanigans Algy and the other RAF pilots got up to, I’m surprised the Brits won the Battle of Britain!! Maybe the toilet paper “runs”(!!) over other airfields honed their skills to a far greater level than ordinary Luftwaffe pilots who were more dour and humourless than their British counterparts.
I’m sure the agility of the Spitfire aircraft at the time also helped the Brits greatly.
Well, this story was after the war in jet aircraft as pictured Paul. The Spitfire boys got up to endless pranks. Some of the Kraut pilots were quite amusing – when they weren’t trying to kill you. Now we just have toilet paper wars in supermarkets.. Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
