IS THERE A GOD – AN ALL-POWERFUL, ALL-WISE, ALL-GOOD, THRICE HOLY, ALL-LOVING-KIND, MERCIFUL & GRACIOUS ETERNAL BEING?

The zoo continues my education

Yesterday Keeper Barry returned to our training session but has delegated the next two sessions to Assistant Keeper Paul. We covered some of the proofs that there is a God. The top six are as follows:

  • The Universe must have a “cause”. Citing the beginning as a “singularity” is meaningless, untenable, untestable and illogical.
  • The Universe demands a Designer. It is not chaotic and random.
  • Life demands a Supernatural Living Creator. There is no such thing as “Bio -Genesis” capable of being observed.
  • Moral Law demands a Moral Law-giver.
  • Free will exists. (Even a Chimp is free to choose bananas over ice cream.)
  • The existence of Reason suggests a Rational , Intelligent Creator. Even Anthony Flew, the famous atheist was converted. See link below:

  2. You make good points but the problem of where did God come from still exist. Attempts to exempt God from the causality required of everything else do have circular reasoning problems.

  3. Thanks for article. There are good arguments on both sides but I think maybe better to say we don’t have an answer rather than claim an untestable supernatural cause. A good read is the essay by W.K Clifford title “The Ethics of Belief.

    1. I believe that the Bible gives the ultimate “ethical” belief and good reasons to believe it. Mr Clifford leads us on a wild dance through various scenarios, but seems to miss the guts of it – God is the Supreme Being and Jesus Christ is His Son. Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
