The zoo has acquired a new keeper. He rejoices in the unusual name of Algernon Moncrieff The Second – Algy II for short.

In my book he seems “a walking contradiction, partly truth and partly fiction” as Kris Kristofferson sang in his song The Pilgrim.

The other keepers have leaked a few of the stories about him and I managed to obtain a photograph of his father, Algy the First, who apparently bought a castle, in which Algy the Second initially grew up.

The keepers have a tea room near my compound, so will eavesdrop on their conversations and keep you posted on this new development.
