You may have noticed that a Hurricane called Dorian is at present sitting on the Bahamas, moving West at 1 mph. The storm is described as “Apocalyptic” and seems headed for Donald Trump’s prized Florida property Mar a Lago.

I have a feeling of Déjà vu. I am old enough to remember, in 1991, George H.W. Bush’s property being slammed by waves as high as his three story mansion in Kennebunkport on the coast of Maine. He had been involved in a huge argument with Israel. He made clear the cost of an American president waging a political fight against the vast coalition of pro-Israel lobbying groups. In doing so, he exposed the limits of what the world’s most powerful man can do when trying to solve the world’s seemingly most intractable conflict. He also exposed what can happen when mankind interferes with the “Apple of God’s Eye” – Israel. In this case it was settlements under dispute.

There are those that think Donald Trump may be running the same risk as George H.W. Bush. President Trump has “the deal of the century” in the wings for Israel and the Palestinians – to be unveiled after the upcoming Israeli election. These same people consider this could be construed as “meddling with God’s Nation”, as did George H.W. Bush in 1991 to his great cost.
