ENGLISH SCHOOLS BAN SKIRTS
A school headmistress has banned skirts at a secondary school in the UK’s West Midlands region to prevent male teachers and pupils getting “distracted”. Rowena Blencowe of Trentham High School in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, took the action because she was fed up with reprimanding girls for showing too much leg and wearing skirts that “barely covered their bottoms”.
This began a trend amongst secondary schools in England, 40 of which followed suit.
This monkey wonders what is being done about boys wearing kilts?
The girls at Lewes Priory School in Sussex protested about this “gender neutral” policy. Teachers called the police to lock the students out. You may be forgiven for thinking this is barmy behaviour.
What happened to the days when girls were required to wear skirts of modest length?
Why not have single sex schools?

I’m sure the mini-skirt has been the bane of most Heads of School since Jean Shrimpton introduced that fashion into Australia back in the mid ’60’s. I’m not sure about timing, but I recall English models such as Twiggy also made the most of the rapidly burgeoning mini-skirt fashion about the same time.
How do I know all this?? I was a typical male teenager at the time!!
I seem to remember there used to be a a regulation length for schoolgirl skirts, measured from the knee to the hem. If they were too short they were sent home or to detention. What happened to common sense and discipline? Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
