DEFINING POLITICS
Dear Chugley, here is is a new article that should be timely for any people nearing a major election. I am aware that some people might be turned off by my ‘anti-politician’ demeanor, but in my lifetime I have learned much, especially about politics in general, and politicians in particular. I am also attaching, separately, my definition of politics that you and your readers might find useful. I’m quite certain there is very little difference between politics here and in Australia. Use that definition as you see fit.
Where are the “Better Candidates” for Public Office? Bud Hancock.
Thank you Bud – much appreciated.
Gibber! Gibber!

Votes and Voters do not decide elections; MONEY decides elections
By Bud Hancock
Introduction
To open I would pose some serious questions: Has there been even one fair and honest national election in the US in the past 100 years? If so, where is the proof of the integrity of that election with data confirmation? If not, does it really matter who the candidates are for high public office?
Periodically, I read statements that claim the only way our national problems will ever be fixed is by electing ‘better candidates’ for public office. Gee, I wish I had thought of that! What a simple solution to America’s problems! All these decades we have suffered through so many critical issues and we could have avoided all that and had life so much better by simply choosing ‘better candidates’ for all public offices.
The belief/hope that we can solve our national problems by better ‘choosing’ seems to be based on the false premise that there are ‘political solutions’ to those problems when in fact, nearly all the problems now being experienced in the US are the result of decisions made by all the politicians, ‘elected’ by American voters, both dead and alive, (sac) for the past 100 plus years. My goodness, did those voters, especially the ‘living ones’, not know that they should have insisted that ‘better people’ run for those offices allowing the voters to choose ‘better politicians’?
Where ARE the Better Candidates?
But pray tell, where are these ‘better candidates’ to be found? More importantly, where did the idea that Americans get to ‘choose their candidates’ come from?
All political candidates, especially at the federal level, are presented for voter selection by the ‘money powers’ that control ALL political parties, ALL global leaders and therefore ALL elections. In the US election system, the candidates chosen to ‘be allowed’ to run in a ‘primary’ process, and who are then placed on the general election ballot, are guaranteed funding for their campaigns, and therefore election and reelection as long as they toe the ‘party line’ and support the party agenda. This ‘fixed system’ thus assures that all decisions made by the (s)elected candidates while in Congress align with the agenda to which the candidates have already sworn their support.
In the American political system of government, all the problems which some say we can ‘fix’ by finding those ‘better candidates’, are themselves the result of either poor or lawless decisions on the part of the previous politicians who inhabit the DC swamp, and I am not saying they are Democrats as opposed to Republicans, since there appears to be no difference between the parties except the ‘R’ or ‘D’ designation.
Until that fact changes, the only thing that will be ‘fixed’ will be the continued ‘fix’ of the ‘rigged’ elections that have plagued our nation for decades and which have always guaranteed success to those who ‘own the system’ while the ordinary citizens, who only want their Constitutionally-guaranteed rights of equal representation, actually get little to no representation in Congress. This has been the case for many decades and many elections wherein both Democratic and Republican candidates ‘won’ the elections.
Those who believe otherwise must also believe in the Tooth Fairy, Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. Everyone with an IQ higher than room temperature knows this, so why do so many on the conservative side still insist on voting for the ‘better candidates”? Why even try to find these ‘better candidates’?
In searching for them, where are they to be found? And, if some seem to pass the test as being considered ‘better’, how do we choose?
Do we make better decisions on the candidates ‘selected for us’ by listening carefully to all their words spoken in public when people, especially the media, are listening? That’s a very good idea because if they know their words are being carefully scrutinized, they will appear to BE better candidates, right? But what about the words they speak in secret, behind closed doors when no one ‘important’ is listening, in the ‘secret’ places where party agendas and goals are decided by people who only have their own, or their party’s, interests planned?
Do we file a FOIA request for all records of their secret conversations to get copies of those words (which, if they exist, will be guarded as closely as the Crown Jewels in Windsor Castle or Buckingham Palace, wherever they are kept)? After all, those secret conversations just might be more ‘telling’ than any words they speak publicly.
The Bible tells us in Jeremiah 17:9 KJV, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and dreadfully wicked: who can know it?”. We have been conditioned to listen to what a man says and to then judge him by his words and, based on those words, his character, but unless you know someone well, having listened to him for a very long time, and are able to compare his words spoken from time to time, his words can fool (deceive) you. Likewise, watching a person’s actions over a period of time MIGHT be a way to judge the character of the person but those who run for political office have very clever speech writers who carefully prepare those speeches in order to obfuscate and cause one thing to be believed when the opposite is often the truth. They also ‘possess’ the media who are frequently ‘used’ to hide the truth about a candidate’s life from the public.
I also know we are told that, “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh” (Luke 6:45 KJV). Once again, unless you are around a person when his political guard is down, and he speaks freely, not reading from a prepared speech or a teleprompter, you are not likely to get a true representation of the person. Those who have already been in politics and been elected to a public office, are forever ‘prepped’ on how to speak and act in public so as to not tarnish a carefully prepared and falsely ‘glossy appearance’.
How Do You TRULY Know?
I have personally known several ordinary people who decided to run for a state congressional office without any political contacts and little financial resources, but had great experience in business matters and also possessed solid reputations for integrity and honesty. When they tried to enlist assistance from the Republican Party they were rebuffed because they were ‘unknown outsiders’. The GOP money set aside for campaigning for that particular office was already earmarked for a ‘politician‘ who had been elected to office previously, was well-known by the Party officials and had obviously conducted himself in his public office in accordance with the ’party script’. Even though he had not proven to be a person who would make a difference in representing the constituents, he was backed for the primary and subsequently won the primary and was placed on the general ballot, where he was roundly beaten in the general election.
So who would have been the ‘better candidate, the one who was backed by Party money, or the one who had the reputation for integrity and honesty? I dare say the latter would have been, but the Party money made the difference.
Unless a voter prays about the person(s) being considered for election and has some true discernment, provided by The Holy Spirit, you might as well close your eyes and hit whichever button your hand lands on in the voting booth. Otherwise, you do NOT know the character and ‘heart condition’ of any candidate.
The Enemy Knows
Our adversary certainly knows all about politics, since he was the first politician whose first political act brought about the downfall of the human race and handed him the authority over all the empires of the world (Luke 4:5-7 KJV). There is now one single dirty political trick or maneuver that Satan is not familiar with, or expert in.
Since he is the father of politics, he is very adept at making sue the candidates he chooses are the ones we are “allowed to vote for”. His choices are provided with the backing, both in monetary and media power, that will ensure their victories. He then needs only to convince enough gullible people that they actually have a ‘choice” for any public office; and based on the current ‘stupidity level’ among the population and the electorate (and yes, this includes the Christian electorate), that has become quite easy for him to handle.
Exceptions
Of course, there have been what seems to be some exceptions to the general rule that all politicians are dirty and corrupt; there have been short periods of time when a person who had some wisdom actually was elected to a high public office, but those are definitely exceptions, possibly caused by God to ensure that the timing of His plan is kept in certain situations. That may possibly be the reason Donald Trump was elected the 45th POTUS in 2016. If so, Satan was able to reverse that and make sure that Trump did NOT return to the White House in 2020.
For most of the past nearly 6000 years, the entire world has been ruled by the rotten system of politics instituted by Satan. There has not been one lasting righteous kingdom in the world in all that time. In every case, when a righteous ruler was in power, evil raise up another unrighteous ruler to tear it down, and so it has gone for that 6000 year period. Until it is time for the return of the righteous king, the rightful ruler to whom God has dive the kingdom forever, we will see only more of the corruption, destruction and death that politics brings. We will see more corrupt politicians, led by Satan and his minions, institute ungodly and foolish administrations of human government that have NO chance of bringing any peace or prosperity to humankind.
Any government that tries to ‘govern’, not being based on the sovereignty and wisdom of God, WILL fail.
Meanwhile, please continue to search for those “better candidates” that have the power to fix the problems created by past politicians. If you locate one or more of these very rare people, please let me know where they are quickly; once they are inducted into the world of politics, they are not likely to remain ‘better’ for long.
Blessings!
