DADDY – NOW THAT YOU HAVE GONE TO THE MOON – CAN WE GO CAMPING?
The zoo was treated last evening to a wonderful film called “Last Man”. It is the story of the late Gene Cernan who became the eleventh man to walk on the moon (out of twelve) and the last man to leave it, as he entered the ascent module as Commander of Apollo 17. His daughter, Tracy, made the headline statement encapsulating the human side of the adventure and a child’s simplicity of thought. He retains the moon’s unofficial land speed record at 11.2 mph, driving the Lunar Rover. The most expensive car ever built at thirty eight million dollars.
This DVD was made by Mark Stewart Productions, Mark is one of Sir Jackie Stewart’s sons. Sir Jackie was three times World Formula One driving champion, and assisted in producing the DVD. He is pictured above with Mark and Gene.
Gene was buried with full military honours at Texas State Cemetery January 25th, 2017. The Zoo salutes him.

Just a question? Check out the shadow cast on the moon by the module wheels? Is this a back lot in Hollywood or the actual moon?
Did humanity actually make it to the surface? Many aerospace scientists say it is impossible – but the final verdict is yet to be determined?
Great story though?
