ANYHOW- ???
Yul Brynner died in 1985. His posthumous plea to stop smoking changed a culture.

His memory was revived yesterday on Chris Kenny’s new programme on Sky, Kenny on Media and I thought many of you might care to reflect on the dramatic change this selfless final act of a superstar created.
When I emigrated to Australia, in 1970, from the Congo, Winfields were all the rage, promoted by Paul Hogan. As I have told you, I paid the price for all those fag ends I smoked! Jimmy Clark had already died at Hockenheimring in 1968, but the cigarette advertising continued apace. It all changed in 1985 when Yul Brynner made his posthumous plea,
This monkey finds it curious that humanity heeds Yul Bryyner’s call to action from beyond the grave, but on the whole, ignores the words of Jesus Christ and His promise of Salvation from the grave and back. Although, on consideration of His words in Luke’s Gospel, below, it is not so surprising.
‘And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead’ (Luke 16:31)

I suspect that people can more easily identify with the observable behaviour of smoking and its dangers…than with ethereal, spiritual declarations about the need to be “saved” from the Old Book, the Bible…wonderful and true though it is! A rebellious heart towards God is the “natural” state of a person, the result of exercising free will. Unlike being told to simply “stop smoking”, the rebellious heart of mankind needs much, much deeper cleansing treatment. We must be “born again”…made a “new creation”. Enter Jesus Christ!
I think you are correct Paul, I feel privileged as a half evolved Chimp, to at least grasp most of the story, I a, working hard on the rest of it, thanks to friends like you. Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
