A RUMBLING IN THE SKY
I had to visit the vet for a check-up on Wednesday. Encouraging results, although he thinks I am still mainly Chimp! Yesterday we were asked out to Afternoon Tea with Banana Cake in another compound – hence no posts!
My sleep was disturbed the other night by a massive rumbling in the sky. It was the Royal Australian Air Force’s two new F35A Stealth fighters tearing the night apart. Why you humans have to make such a noise about something as simple as flying I don’t know – the eagles are silent about it. I also wonder what my old pal Ham, would make of it? Remember, you shot him into space on top of a rocket – see my post on him. https://chugley.blog/chimps-in-space-meet-ham/
The Lockheed Martin F35A (pictured above) is a modern Stealth Fighter with massive power from its Pratt and Whitney jet engine. It will travel at 1,960 kmh. Its range is 2,200 kl. It has pinpoint bombing accuracy. But can it cope with the latest Russian hyper sonic missiles? Playing Russian roulette……?
You humans seem to evolve ever more lethal weapons in order to obliterate each other. Just leave the zoo alone please.
Wouldn’t you do better – and save a great deal of money, misery and noise – following the one who exhorted HIS Followers in the most powerful words ever uttered:
“A new commandment I give unto you – That ye love one another:
As I have loved you – that ye also love one another” (JOHN 13:34)
Gibber! Gibber!

Hi Chugley. Thanks for the info re. the fighters. I thought it was the sweet and sour pork I had eaten. And I say “hear, hear” to the wise words you quote. And long live the F35A, ‘cos it will take us decades to pay for them.
But it should keep a few pilots off the streets! Be careful of that Chinese food, you may miss more than an F 35A! Gibber! Gibber! Chugley the chop suey’d Chimp
From my layman’s reading, the more “advanced” the country, the more is spent on “defence”. This tells me that there is lots of mutual fear and suspicion of each other’s possible attack potential. And the money spent to feel superior and in control, is massive. I read the cost to the US of their part of the Vietnam War was at least $1 trillion (a thousand thousand million) in today’s money, and their 2019 Defence budget is nearly $1 trillion….just for one year!
These amounts of money could literally rid the world of poverty and disease!
That’s the cost of fear and suspicion.
A very helpful comment indeed, if I might say so. As a junior student Chimpanzee I cannot help bur feel that it will be only when all Nations turn to Jesus Christ that all these problems will be solved, peace and Love will then reign supreme. But then I am just a learner, come to think of it, I never hear from another pontificating primate – maybe I’m the only one? Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
