Dear Heritage Family,
In Zechariah 12:3, the prophet wrote, “And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.” Certainly, today could be that day as most of the nations of the world are lining up against Israel.
However, in Zechariah 12:9, the prophet wrote, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.” Since the main focus of that verse applies to the future Battle of Armageddon, perhaps that future is not so far away. The people of Israel have made it clear – they will not be moved from their land again.
In our next sermon from the prophecy of Zechariah, God gave His prophet eight visions for the future of Israel. Dear Fellow Watchmen,
None of what is happening around the world today should come as a surprise to students of the Bible who take Bible prophecy seriously. As Zechariah said, the closer we get to the end of this age, the more the nation of Israel will become a “burdensome stone for all people.” Those who love God, love God’s people and love the Holy Land are burdened for those whose lives are, in any way, affected by this war. However, we are even more burdened for those who claim to be Christians and yet are supportive of the terrorists!
I personally cannot fathom how a Bible-believing Christian can possibly love God and hate the Jewish people at the same time. Do you not know what the Bible says: “He who touches Israel touches the apple of His eye?” (Zechariah 2:8) Therefore, if you hate Israel, or God’s people, you hate the God of Israel, and God’s Word is clear, He will destroy all the nations that come against Israel.
I urge Pastors to put aside the commentaries of men, or what your liberal professor told you in seminary, and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to a true understanding of God’s Word regarding the nation of Israel, and the salvation of that final remnant of Jews. The world is not falling apart; God’s program is falling into place, and just as the Bible says, these final events are taking place in that tiny little nation called Israel.
Beloved, we have entered the final chapter of history before the Lord Jesus returns. First, contrary to the scoffers, Jesus will soon return FOR those who have received Him as their Savior and Lord. Then, seven lunar years later, Jesus will return as the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, and He will deal with those who refused to believe in Him, and we will return WITH Him.
