Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Psalm 34:11
When the Bible refers to the “fear of the Lord” it means having a deep respect, a reverence and awe of God’s power and authority for He is Omnipotent, all powerful, He is Omniscient, all knowing and
He is Omnipresent, He is everywhere. If we want to know and experience the power and presence of God in our lives then we need to be living in and with the fear of the Lord upon our lives, which will enable us to live a victorious and fruitful life.
The Psalmist in our opening verse stated the fear of the Lord is something that can be learnt.
Remember the disciples asked Jesus, teach us to pray. We can ask God to teach us what it is to fear
Him. Teach me your way O Lord, and I will walk in your truth, give me an undivided heart that
I may fear your name. Psalm 86:11 With a teachable heart, our prayer must be to have an undivided
heart. God must be first and foremost in our lives. This will take sacrifice, commitment and
endurance. When the Lord sees our heart fully committed to Him, we have this wonderful promise in
2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those
whose hearts are fully committed to him.
Having a reverential fear of the Lord means we need to connect our lives to the Scriptures, God’s
Word, not allowing our Bible to gather dust on the bookshelf. My son, if you accept my words and
store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to
understanding and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look
for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of
the LORD and find the knowledge of God. Proverbs 2:1-5
To fear the Lord is to hate evil. Prov 8:13 We must learn to love what God loves and hate what He
hates. To fear the Lord is to hate evil, not become apathetic towards it, not to embrace it or be
desensitised to it or turn a blind eye to it. We read this exhortation in Eph 5:11 Have nothing to do
with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. We can love the sinner, but hate the
sin because sin is so defiling and destructive.
Our world is all about tolerance and relativity, blurring the ability to discern between “good” and
“evil.” In fact, we live in times that the Old Testament prophets spoke about. So justice is driven
back, and righteousness stands at a distance; truth has stumbled in the streets, honesty cannot
enter. Truth is nowhere to be found, and whoever shuns evil becomes a prey. Is 59:14-15 Woe to
those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who
put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter. Is 5:20 In the midst of tolerance, diversity and a lack of

Timeline Ministries Godly discernment there is the temptation to compromise the truth of God’s Word. We should
remember the words of Galatians 5:9 A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough. Just
as a small amount of yeast will make a whole loaf of bread rise, a little bit of compromise will quickly
spread, infiltrating and contaminating the hearts and minds of believers, making them ineffective
citizens for the Kingdom of God. Like a muddied spring or a polluted well is a righteous man who
gives way to the wicked. Prov 25:26 The Bible makes it clear that God does not condone
compromising His commands: So be careful to do what the LORD your God has commanded
you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. Deuteronomy 5:32. God is holy, and His ways are
right. God is good, and His ways are lifegiving. Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to
what is good. Romans 12:9
Having a Godly, reverential fear is connected to keeping an Eternal Focus. Therefore, since we are
receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably
with reverence and awe for our God is a consuming fire. Heb 12:28 Do we live each day with the
understanding that we are but aliens and sojourners passing through this world? We are to be about
our heavenly Father’s business on the journey but ultimately this world is not our forever home. We
are part of an eternal, unshakeable Kingdom. We are a people of hope, we have a wonderful future
stored up for us, we are co-heirs with Christ. Since, you have been raised with Christ, set your
hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things
above, not on earthly things. Col 3:1-2
As we live with an undivided heart, walking in obedience to God’s Word, keeping the Lord’s
perspective on life and having an Eternal focus, the Spirit of God will impart a holy reverential fear of
our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ into our hearts, minds and souls. Fear the Lord, you His saints,
for those who fear Him lack nothing. Psalm 34:9
Greg and Judy’s Update: We greatly appreciate the financial support that is sacrificially given
towards the work of Timeline Ministries. The funds received enable us to keep our van on the road,
paying for insurances, registration, services, repairs, new tyres, fuel etc while also contributing
towards the other costs involved in the ministry trips undertaken. Thank you for co-labouring with us
through your prayers and financial gifts.
Since Greg had surgery for two different cancers, he has been under an oncologist for the past 8years.
In June the oncologist told us that Greg would not need to come back. Judy asking, does that mean he
is in remission? The specialist responded, no, we call it cured. We prefer to say ‘Healed’. This has
been a long journey with many battles, and we praise God for His mighty provision and for the
faithful prayer of His saints. In Hebrew the number 8 means a new beginning and we look forward to
all that God has in store as we continue to look unto Him.
We are planning a ministry trip to QLD, leaving in late July, speaking at the Gold Coast, Brisbane
area, Maryborough, Gin Gin, Biggenden, Hervey Bay and Bundaberg region, Gladstone,
Rockhampton and what ever other opportunities may yet open up. For further details please feel free
to contact us.
Prayer Points: Praise God for His faithfulness and gracious provision.
Praise God for the open doors in the proclamation of His soon coming.
Pray for ongoing wisdom and direction for the remainder of the year, may the Lord direct our path.
Protection and alertness while travelling on the roads of Australia is always a needed provision.
Praise God for the great increase in Aliyah particularly from the former Soviet States. This is due to
the Russian invasion of Ukraine, though much prayer is needed to cover this whole situation.
The Lord fulfills the desires of those who fear Him. Psalm 145:1
