Dear Heritage Family,
Just as God brought Israel out of Egyptian slavery by His mighty power, God has brought us out of our spiritual slavery to this sinful world through the powerful blood of Jesus Christ. Jesus established “The Lord’s Supper” to remind us to be thankful for His sacrificial death for our sins.
· The Unleavened Bread symbolized His body that would suffer for our sins – Isaiah 53:1-11
· The Red Wine symbolized His blood as the only agent that could cleanse us of our sins – 1 Peter 1:18-21
In 1 Corinthians 11:26, the Apostle Paul said, “For as often as ye eat this bread and drink this cup, you do show the Lord’s death till He comes.”
We will explain and observe “The Lord’s Supper” in our sermon on August 27; “This Do, in Remembrance of Me.”

British historian Lord Acton once said, “Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely.” He explained his statement: “As a person’s power increases, their sense of morality decreases.” Could there be a more apt description of the political culture in which we live?
I realize most people are totally tuned out to what is really happening in our culture today, and sadly, even the majority of those who are interested have limited themselves to the soundbites, or as Joe Friday used to say, “Just the facts, mam!” However, I do not apologize for this IN-DEPTH edition of the News Handouts. Several articles in this edition that need to be read, and then re-read to get the complete picture of what is happening in our world today, why, and who is really in charge.
I hope every Christian parent will focus on the last two articles. Just as we can no longer trust the traditional educational system to effectively prepare our children for the future, neither can we trust our churches to prepare them for eternity. While the “commercial churches” seem to be growing, evangelical Christianity in America is dying, and that may be a good thing. Soon, today’s parents will no longer be able to “outsource” their children’s spiritual education!!
Considering the funds churches have expended on children’s and youth ministries over the last 40 years and learning that only 2% of American parents have a biblical worldview, it’s time to close down the “children’s churches,” and start teaching our children from the BIBLE!!
