The TRUE American Foundation

The TRUE American Foundation

October 5, 2025

Thanks once more to Bud Hancock for some more foundational truth about the meaning of Foundation. It is painful to humans in the West to behold the foundational destruction of America, the bedrock of your Western Civilisation.

The TRUE American Foundation

By Bud Hancock

Most Americans, as well as many people from other nations, that have followed, respected and admired the United States for years, believe the US Constitution is the foundation of our nation. I also believed that for a number of years; and before you get your hackles up and begin to doubt my patriotism, hear me out. This article may, hopefully, clear up some misunderstandings about our true foundation.
First off, what exactly IS a foundation?

Per The American Heritage Dictionary, the word “foundation” is defined as
“The basis on which a thing stands, is founded, or is supported”.
The Merriam Webster Dictionary adds this:

an underlying base or support especially the whole masonry substructure of a building
a body or ground upon which something is built up or overlaid
And finally, the Oxford Learner’s Dictionary defines it as:
a principle, an idea or a fact that something is based on and that it grows from
To carry this search further, according to Merriam Webster, the word “constitution” is defined as:
the structure, composition, physical makeup, or nature of something
the system of fundamental principles according to which a nation, state, corporation, or the like, is governed.

To clarify, the United States Constitution is NOT the foundation upon which this nation is based, but rather it is the compilation and system of rules, principles and ideas by which law and order are maintained within a civilized American society. A better definition would be that the US Constitution is the “blueprint” for the building of the House built upon the foundation. The house, properly built from the specific blueprints, will stand as long as it is properly maintained, but as with a house made of wood or stone, it requires almost constant maintenance, and even with that, it can be changed or even destroyed, either by neglect from within, or by an act of violence from without. However, a solid foundation, properly laid, should last forever.

A house, built upon a foundation, solid, firm and more or less immoveable, and hopefully unchangeable, substructure, is built by adherence to certain rules, some of which are simple logic, others which are governed by laws and regulations (of or from, government), and the laws of physics. But a house is merely an object constructed from wood, stone, steel and/or other natural materials, and as such, it is neither moral nor immoral, and such values do not affect its usage or its efficacy as a dwelling. By contrast, a nation is made up of many people, living souls who, in order to properly function, absolutely MUST have some adherence to specific rules, spiritual as well ss physical: Call them moral standards. This would indicate that the nation, made up of many people, is NOT founded on the “system or process” of specific rules, but rather IS the document containing the rules. Though some may claim that the US Constitution IS the document containing all the rules. If this is the case, where did the writers of the Constitution source these rules?

Since the United States was founded in 1776, and did NOT exist prior to that time, the rules must have been existent MUCH earlier, and those rules were so fundamental regarding the expectation of human behavior that they were used to form the document we all have called our foundation. So, where then did the original rules originate from? They were not dreamed up and used (patent pending) by the men we call our “Founding Fathers”, to draw up the United States Constitution.

The Founders of this nation, that body of men, nearly all of whom were known to be honest, righteous, God-fearing men of high reputation, must have had a much earlier source for their beliefs which formed their character. Since the Constitution had not yet been written, it could NOT have been the source of the wisdom exhibited by them in the writing of it.

Our Founding Fathers, being well-known as believers in the redemptive work of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, had built their lives upon a sure foundation, actually THE FOUNDATION, allowing them, to not only be very successful in their personal lives and business ventures, but to be of strong and sound character, honoring the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Many Christians believe that the foundation upon which Jesus intended to “build His Church” was stated in Matthew chapter 16, where Jesus was having a discussion with His disciples about the personage of Jesus, but the mistakenly assume what that foundation was:

“When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter (Petros), and upon this rock (Petra) I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:13-18).

The word “Peter” used by Jesus when addressing Peter is the English translation of the Greek word “petros” (Strong’s 4074, pronounced pay-taros’) and it literally means a “piece” of rock, a small fragment, slightly larger than a stone. Jesus then says that “upon this rock I will build my church”. The word “rock” used by Jesus is the Greek word “Petra” (Strong’s 4073, pronounced pet’-ra) and it means “a mass of rock”. It is used in the book of Revelation to describe the mountains east of the Jordan River in which the remnant Jews will hide near the end of the Tribulation Period.

But the rock upon which Jesus will build His Church is NOT Peter, but rather is the revelation given by the Father in heaven to Peter, that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the Living God. Jesus was establishing the truth about the “foundation” upon which the True Church would be built, and that foundation is the Truth, the Word, the very personage and character of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One. The truth is that the mass of rock, big enough and strong enough to be used as a foundation, is the entire revelation of Who Jesus IS as well as What He would become. Peter became a “small fragment of rock” due to the knowledge given to him by God

The Founding Fathers of our nation KNEW the truth of Jesus Christ; they lived that truth in their personal lives, establishing trust in Him to be their savior, their deliverer, their guide into all truth. As such, their foundation was the TRUTH, the same truth that would be used to create the US Constitution, in other words, the house built upon the Foundation of God’s word.

Those who are trying to destroy the United States of America have focused on the US Constitution, changing what it means, or at least trying to change it into what they WANT it to mean; but the house of the United States, built by strict adherence to its blueprint, managed to stand for nearly 232 years, until a man, Barack Hussein Obama managed to get into the White House by proclaiming, in a late campaign speech on October 30, 2008, that “we are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America”.

Look closely at the dictionary definition of the word “fundamental”; per the American Heritage Dictionary, the word fundamental means “of or relating to the foundation or base” of something. I firmly believe that the majority of people who heard that proclamation believed that he meant to change the political makeup of the nation, starting with the US Constitution, but in fact he was NOT referring to that aged and majestic document. Obama being an intelligent man, I am convinced that he knew the fundamental transformation he was referring to was actually a change to the TRUE foundation of this nation: The Word of God.

What followed was an intense attack, not on the Constitution, but upon the belief system that made the United States a Christian Nation, including Obama’s statement in a press conference in Turkey in the early part of his first administration, that the United States was no longer a Christian nation. That began the main attack on the true foundation.

That was the time when the evil ones realized that, unless the belief system used by the Founders, the Word of God, was destroyed, or made of no effect, resulting in the destruction of the foundation, the house would continue to stand. Satan, the evil one, knows exactly what the true foundation is and began an all-out assault on it. He first convinced some very stupid and gullible people that they did not need God in our government or our schools. He was aided in this quest by some of the very members of the US Congress who should have known better, e.g., former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, Democrat from California, who publicly declared: “You don’t need God,. You have the Democrats”.
That statement fully exemplifies her belief that Democratic politicians hold themselves to be above God. That belief, along with their constant actions to destroy God and all true Christian beliefs, reinforced Obama’s and Pelosi’s claims that the WORD of God has become unnecessary.
In Ephesians 2:19-21, Paul wrote this scripture wherein he puts an end forever to the debate on what the true foundation of our house is:
“Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:”

The words of the apostles and prophets, the words given to them by Almighty God forms the gospel message, the message that has the power to save a soul, as well as to be the foundation upon which a great nation can be built. As long as the foundation remains firm, the house built on it shall stand. That is why the evil works so hard to get people to build on a foundation that is something other than the word of God. He knows the strength of the true foundation.

Only a return to the belief, on the part of a majority of American citizens, that the ONLY foundation capable of sustaining the “house” of the United States IS the true foundation of the Word of God, and NOT the US Constitution, will keep our nation upright and standing. The Constitution, being the blueprint for the house, while a magnificent document, and one to be respected, can NEVER replace the Word of God, the TRUE, and ONLY, foundation of our nation.
Maranatha and Blessings!

I found Bud’s differentiation of the Greek “petros” (Peter…the small rock) and “Petra” (Christ – the “mass of rock”) very helpful. I wonder if the Roman Catholic church has made a fundamental error in making Peter THE “Rock” on which that church is founded….instead of Christ and His Word.
Similarly, Obama and Pelosi foolishly (and arrogantly) dismissed Christ and His Word as the nation’s “rock” foundation, and have decided they want “sand” as the nation’s foundation. We know from Jesus what happens when a house is built on sand!
