THE TEMPTATION OF THE KING

Pastor Wayne Edwards continues his sermon series with The Temptation of the King. The main Sermon begins at about twenty four minutes. The Sermon studies the books of Daniel and Matthew.
This Sermon is another study attuned to todays events in this tortured world. Pastor Wayne also includes his news clips which pinpoint the way in which your world is spinning into darkness. I recommend that my readers keep their hope centered on Jesus Christ, not on things that are passing rapidly away.
Gibber! Gibber!

Pastor Wayne writes:
Those who teach the Christian life is about health, wealth, and happiness
are not only belittling the cross of Christ; they are discounting the countless lives of those who have been martyred for their expressed faith in Jesus as their Savior.
The evidence a person has been born again is that they are immediately attacked by Satan in ways they never experienced before and from sources they never expected. It is called “spiritual warfare,” a battle that will not end until their physical death. However, as the Apostle Peter said, “think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you, but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.” (1 Peter 4:12-14)
We will explain this further in our next sermon in this series – “Behold the King: The Temptation of the King.”

A prayer for DISCERNMENT
Almighty God, Author of all life, my prayer request today is for the spirit of discernment to help me navigate through the dark clouds of delusion and deception You have allowed us to be enveloped in today. Give me discerning eyes that I may see the disturbing things going on in this world through your divine will! Give me discerning ears that I may block out the noisy bantering of men and yet still hear You speak to me through Your Holy Word. Give me discerning hands that I may know how to touch others with Your love and to do it in such a way that they will sense Your presence. Finally, dear Lord, please give me a discerning mouth that I may know when to stay quiet, when to speak, and that my words would manifest the weight of Your holiness to those who hear them. I ask these things in the name of the One who modeled such discernment during His days upon this earth, Jesus of Nazareth, Your Son, and our Savior and Lord, Amen!
