The Revealing of God’s Power

The Revealing of God’s Power

October 28, 2025

Bud Hancock emphasises the power of God and what He has promised for His land Israel. Has President Trump grasped this Eternal Truth? It would seem not.

The Revealing of God’s Power
By Bud Hancock

In Biblical history, certain actions on the part of evil beings prompted God to reveal Himself publicly to the world. You might say that every time God revealed Himself, one or more of the “red lines” He had already set were crossed, and the Almighty responded with a display of His power. In reality, the first recorded act revealing God and His power to the world occurred when Lucifer decided that he was going to elevate himself above God and “be like the Most High”, an event recorded in Isaiah 14. Lucifer’s very unwise decision to rebel against God resulted in his immediate dismissal from heaven, ending with his fall to Earth, being “cut down to the ground” (Isaiah 14:12). Indeed Lucifer was a very powerful angel, the “anointed cherub that covereth”, and likely the most powerful one that God created, but his pride caused him to “think more highly” of himself than was wise (Romans 12:3). Having crossed God’s “red line”, Lucifer was judged and sentenced to an eternity in a burning lake of fire, which sentence is yet to be carried out.

Perhaps the most well-known occurrence of the revealing of God’s power was recorded in the sixth chapter of Genesis when, after having been created perfect, man’s rebellion against God eventually, and completely, permeating the evil nature of men, had grown to such levels that God decided to act to keep the evil from taking over every person on Earth, an event that would have given Satan complete reign over humanity. But God in His mercy extended His grace to a just and righteous man, Noah, and gave him the task of providing the means of salvation for him, by building an ark capable of delivering men and animals from the coming judgment that God decreed when men crossed His “red line”. Noah, his wife, his three sons and their wives were the only eight souls who were humans spared from the flood that nearly destroyed all life on the planet.

The power God displayed in that event must have brought shock and fear to all the evil men who had so corrupted the earth. After all, there is no record of water falling from the sky until God’s power opened up the windows of heavens to allow the waters above the Earth to pour down, along with the breaking up of the fountains of the great deep (Genesis 7:11) which actions totally flooded the Earth, killing all humanity and animal life save those that Noah had placed into the Ark. From seeing absolutely no rain since creation, to a constant deluge lasting forty days and nights, God revealed that He, and He alone, has ALL the power over this Earth (Psalm 24:1).

These instances are merely two of many recorded in God’s word wherein God revealed His power through His anger and wrath brought on by men’s evil actions. However, God has also revealed His power in events that showed His love. Consider the event where God had sent Moses to Egypt to demand that Pharoah, king of Egypt, release all the Jews he had enslaved, so that they could return to their promised land and there fulfill God’s plan for them. When Pharoah refused, God’s anger was kindled, and He brought a total of ten horrible plagues on the land of Egypt that eventually caused Pharoah to submit to God and His power. That display of God’s awesome power was a blessing to Israel and the Jews in that they were freed, but they also left Egypt with the spoils of the Egyptian people and headed back to the Land of Canaan. While the display of God’s power brought death and destruction to the Egyptians, it brought life and blessing to the Jewish people. The memory of that display of the power of God should bring peace and comfort to ALL His people because it assures us that God keeps His word and He will NOT change, no matter what men may do.

However, there is so much more to the Power of God than what we might see as being either beneficial to humanity or a means of destruction to evildoers. God not only has the power of creation, but He also has the power to destroy anything and everything. Jesus stated:

“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell” (Matthew 10:28). Jesus was encouraging His disciples with those words as they travelled around Israel, facing many threats as they followed His commands.
The Body of Christ is commanded many times in scripture to NOT FEAR because God knows that fear is the enemy of faith, and God also knows that we LIVE BY FAITH. But faith in what?
The simple answer is, Faith in God’s Word and the sureness of His promises. He has enabled us to live by faith as long as we understand where the foundation of our faith is. God has placed HIS GREAT NAME behind all His promises. But what are we to know about the greatness of God’s name? God has established that His name is more than just a means of “calling Him by name”; His name is not only Who He is, His name is WHAT He is. He is the God Who told Moses, I AM THAT IAM, meaning that He is from everlasting to everlasting, no beginning, no end and no one comparable to Him. In Ezekiel 36:22, we read, “Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; I do not this for your sakes, O house of Israel, but for mine holy name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the heathen, whither ye went. God has stated that He is jealous for His Great Name and will certainly judge those who profane it. The crossing of God’s red lines, either by Jew or Gentile, is a definite act of profaning His Name. Trying to deny God the glory that belongs to Him is a very dangerous practice, and one that could bring a terrible judgment on anyone who does so.

How many more “red lines” does God still have that could be violated by evil men? In each of the instances listed above, a red line was crossed, and in each instance, God has exhibited His willingness to act when His red lines are violated. But, in modern times, I cannot recount any time that a major red line was crossed that caused a response from God, leading to a display of His awesome power. However, the time is nearing when I expect to see such a response; we are living in a time when almost the whole world is aligning against Israel, the Apple of God’s Eye. Multitudes of nations, most of the members of the United Nations, have publicly expressed their demand for a separate state, on the Holy Land of Israel, to be created for an ethnic group that never existed in history: the Palestinians.

There can be no doubt that God still loves the Jewish people; His words attest to the fact that He will never leave nor forsake them. His words also clearly state that a HUGE red line is the land which He gave to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob for an eternal inheritance. In case anyone missed it while reading the Bible, at least 10 times, a warning to the nations about dividing the land of Israel, can be found. That sounds like a clear red line to me. But the world, nearly all the member nations of the United Nations, continues to press on with their demands of a divided Israel so that a rogue state can be established there. Many of these nations were formerly “Christian”, but now appear to be siding with the evil one who would like nothing better than to destroy Israel and every Jew on Earth.

As alarming as this foolish demand is the statement that Trump’s “Peace Plan” allows for the possibility of the establishment of a separate Palestinian state on Israeli land, and that DEFINITELY is a red line for God. While many in the western world heap praise on Trump for his “miraculous settlement” of the ages-ling conflict between Israel and the Arab nations surrounding her, they all seem to have brushed away any concern over the statements God has made regarding the division of HIS land. Trust me, regardless of what Trump says, that conflict is NOT over, and will NOT be over until Israel is allowed to do what God commanded them to do centuries ago: the total destruction of all the Amalekite peoples. Allowing for the establishment of a state for what some see as the current Edomite/Amalekite ethnic group, now being called “Palestinians”, is likely to cause God to rise up and display His awesome power in ways that no one living has ever seen. Just as he dealt with Lucifer when, in a display of his pride and ego, he exhibited his hatred of God by crossing God’s red line, I believe we are very close to seeing the first display of that power in recent history. God cast Lucifer out of heaven because of his pride, and he will not hesitate to show His disdain for all who think they can ignore the many warnings from God concerning “HIS” land, and also those who desire to take any glory for anything they accomplish without giving to God ALL the glory. Since the “peace negotiations” in the Middle East began, red lines have been crossed, and more are about to be.

In the speech Trump delivered before the Israeli Knesset, on October 13, 2025, the American President seemed to bask in the glow of the praise being heaped upon him by those in attendance. In his usual egotistical and narcissistic manner, he accepted that praise and went on speaking at length about all his accomplishments since his inauguration few short months ago particularly announcing that he is the “peacemaker”. I did not once hear him give any praise or glory to the God of heaven for the release of the remaining hostages that were released earlier in the day. The act of the hostages being released was declared a “miracle”, but I must reiterate: POTUS Trump is NOT a miracle worker, and the peace he so readily claims was made by him, is temporary at best. Only when the true “Prince of Peace”, Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Living God, returns to this Earth, no longer as the Lamb of God, but as the King of Kings, Lord or Lords, and the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, and establishes His eternal throne in Jerusalem, will the world see the kind of peace that Trump tries to own.
So, I encourage all to be alert and watchful for the unfulfilled end-times prophecies to become reality. Perhaps the greatest of those is the appearance of Jesus in the clouds to take all believers to heaven where we may witness the wrath of God to be revealed during the seven-year Tribulation Period, the greatest display of God’s power ever seen. But for all those who see His wrath while still on this Earth, it will NOT be a pleasant experience. Make the decision today to be a part of the group that only sees it from afar (Psalm 91:8).
Blessings and Maranatha!

Wonderful insights about the current “Israel” situation, Bud! I’ve been fascinated by the western nations outpouring of support for the Palestinians…the UN disdain for Israel…and even the International Court of “Justice” calling for the arrest of Netanyahu. There is nothing on the same level of activist support for Ukraine…or Christians massacred in Nigeria by Islamists.
The massive antagonism against Israel (since 1948) is confirmation to me that the Christian faith is the “right” one of world religions….prophecies have been, and are, being fulfilled…and also the focus of world history and events are centre-ing on that little land of Israel with its small population.
The Day of the Lord and the Tribulation period must be so close, I think.
