Dear Heritage Family,
On February 8, 2023, Asbury University students, faculty, staff, administrators, local community members, and visitors gathered in Hughes Auditorium for a regular chapel service. What began as a time of open confession of sin that extended beyond the normal chapel hours transformed into what is being called the last great hope for revival, and a warning of the prophetic events that are soon to come.
However, in our deep longing to see such a spiritual renewal among God’s people, we need to remember the warnings given to us by Paul, Peter, John, and even the Lord Jesus about “false teachers, false prophets, false messiahs.” I would add “false revivals,” for if this is indeed a work of the Spirit of God, it must soon be manifested into the work of God, and that is my daily prayer.
· In Ephesians 5:18-20, the Apostle Paul confirmed the validity of “being filled with the Holy Spirit, addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart!”
· In Colossians 3:16-17, the Apostle Paul also warned, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, with thankfulness in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
The challenge is to prayerfully protect what the Holy Spirit has initiated from those false teachers and leaders who want to capitalize upon it for their benefit.
One thing is for sure, even the unbelieving world has noticed how many people from all over the world have traveled to Asbury College to be a part of what God is doing there. What would they do if all those who claimed to be Christians found their way into their chosen places of worship tomorrow?

Dear Fellow Watchmen,
The first few articles in this week’s News Handouts are regarding what appears to be the inevitability of WWIII. If that is true, America is not ready for it in any way, shape, form, or fashion.
While this is not a subject we like to dwell upon, I urge you to climb out of your comfortable Christian environment long enough to see, while our government is doing all it can to push the US into war with Russia and China, it is doing nothing to prepare us for war. In fact, it is doing everything to ensure America loses this war, including keeping the people divided over nonsensical issues.
According to the Book of Revelation, at some point after the rapture of the Church, war will explode worldwide, and it will not end until Jesus returns to the earth. The world stage is set for such a war! Prophetically speaking, we all know these things will happen, and the closer we get to the end of this age, the more intense they will become.
As people of faith, we must pray for peace, but at the same time, we must prepare for war. Barring some miraculous intervention, it appears that war is inevitable, and for sure, our feckless “government” will not be able to protect us from foreign and domestic enemies.
