THE GENESIS FLOOD
The Genesis Flood for Kids
I like to stimulate my readers to THINK. One very good way is to persistently bring to your attention the truth of Genesis and the whole Bible as History. The modern oracle – Google – will tell you that you are the product of chance evolution and jumping genes. Most “scientists” will deny that Noah’s flood was worldwide, even if it happened in some limited way. They persistently teach your children such erroneous and wicked beliefs which are even embraced by many “churches”. This is the main reason, in my monkey opinion, that your affairs are in such a terminal mess. Please subscribe to Creation Magazine and get straight on the simple facts that will ensure that you and your children will inherit Everlasting Life.

Rainbow colours
The rainbow is really continuous. But our eyes divide it up into coloured bands, and different people see different numbers. Sir Isaac Newton assigned seven colours: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet. But by “Blue”, he probably meant what we call ‘cyan’ or ‘blue-green’ (sometimes ‘turqoise’, teal or ‘aqua’)—a thin band that’s hard to see. His “Indigo” was probably our ordinary blue. Chinese also has the same seven colours, with cyan 青 (qīng) between green (绿 (lǜ) and blue 蓝 (lán).
Were there rainbows before the Flood?
Rainbows most likely occurred before the Flood, because light behaved the same way. But after the Flood, God gave the rainbow a new meaning: the sign of His covenant. Similarly, Jesus gave new meaning to bread and wine when He began the Lord’s Supper (or Holy Communion).
Some have claimed that Genesis 2:5 says there was no rain, and thus no rainbows before the Flood. However, this verse refers to the time before God created people. At that time, there were no cultivated plants. That is because God had not yet created a man to cultivate them or rain to water the earth. We know that God created man since then (because we are here!), and He has also sent rain.
God gave us a sign of the Noahic Covenant to reassure us further. This sign was His “bow in the cloud”, or rainbow. God promised that whenever He saw a rainbow, He would be reminded of His Promise never again to flood the whole earth.
Rainbows are caused by raindrops splitting white light into all its colours. Mist droplets can do the same, and so can glass. The splitting is called dispersion, and all the colours are called the spectrum. The great creationist scientist Sir Isaac Newton (1642–1727) discovered dispersion and the spectrum. He used a triangle-shaped piece of glass called a prism. Newton also showed that the colours could recombine into white light
After God’s great promise, people should have been grateful and obeyed Him. However, people disobeyed yet again. But God kept His promise not to flood them again.
How to make a homemade R A I N B O W
You will need a hose fitting that has a mist spray setting. In the late afternoon, face directly away from the sun and spray the hose towards your shadow. Try different angles until you see a rainbow.
