The Foolishness of Fighting Against Almighty God
By Bud Hancock
Introduction
In the sports world, team contact sports involve the process of going “head to head” against an opponent. This is especially true in American football, basketball and of course, the non-team sport of boxing. The positions in each team sport pits a player on one team directly against a player on the other team. Sometimes the matchups are quite even, allowing for an interesting game in which the way the players perform against their head to head opponent will often determine the outcome of the game. Once in a while, though, the matchups appear lopsided, especially if one player is a lot faster than his opponent. But if the slower player is much larger and stronger than his faster opponent, the seeming mismatch can become more even as the game goes on.
Of course, the reason for head to head matchups is to control the outcome of the game; the team with the most mismatched positions can usually be dominated by the other team and thus the outcome can be determined.
The good part of this process in sports is that the games, after all, are nothing more than entertainment with few lasting effects, other than physical injuries, mostly to the players who did not quite match up to their opponents. Other than those, the games all become simply memories of what once was and are mostly forgotten after a short time.
However, there are contact confrontations that have nothing to do with the meaningless sports that so many spend so much time watching and participating in.
Head to Head in Reality
Contrary to the thinking of most of the people living in America, professional sports events are little more than cheap entertainment; they are NOT reality, rather they are a transient distraction from reality.
In reality, all world events have lasting effects, whether for good or bad. The world is NOT a game, but the world events that occur daily, resemble a sports game except for the consequences. Just as there are participants in a sports game that take place in a sports arena, with players and observers favoring each side, there are participants in the events in the “reality arena” but the reality events have REAL consequences. Those consequences, in a politically dominated atmosphere, are not only life-changing, they are eternal. The shame is that so many people consider the reality-based events to be like a sports event rather than actions that can alter a person’s status in their eternal relationship with an eternal God.
Since it is likely that those reading this article are as aware of the head to head process dictated by the world’s political modus operandi as I am, it behooves those of us who understand the implications of adhering to that process in world events as most would in a simple sports event, to try to reach all who are likely to suffer the consequences of their decisions.
Why It Matters
Some sports events closely resemble real battles, especially American football wherein many players are seriously injured in their head to head matchups every year. The main way players avoid these injuries is to enhance their physical conditioning and stamina through regular exercising and proper diet. Doing so will help to equalize any differences in them and their counterparts with whom they must go had to head. Of course, the only certain way to avoid the problems is to avoid playing, but few there are who would consider this an option.
Once again we must understand that sports is NOT reality, whereas those who partake in the reality world events, whether as politicians, leaders, the military etc., are definitely operating in the real world, where there is one individual who determines who wins the game. While most world events generally are accepted as reality among most educated and involved people, it is sadly true that there are many, especially the younger generations, who are not only unaware of that fact, they seem unconcerned about the impact these events may have on every person on Earth. That may be the reason why they publicly opine, quite loudly and rashly I might add, about events of which they have no real knowledge. The events I am referring to are those involving the so-called Palestinians, the Jewish people and the land of Israel.
These events evoke the most savage, brutal and fallacious opinions from the ignorant, the stupid and the evil: ignorant because they express their emotional diatribes based solely on what they are told by the highly biased MSM and other antisemitic groups; stupid because they fail to keep their mouths shut until they have some true facts, and evil because they willingly use whatever platform they have to express their hatred of the Jewish people.
The Inherent Dangers
Head to head physical confrontations will often produce physical injuries that are potentially life-changing. However, many, if not most, of the injuries from head to head battle in sports can be overcome with intense rehabilitation, or surgery. As bad as these head to head confrontations are , the most dangerous ones are those conducted in the real world, the spiritual realm. They are much more serious than the physical ones, producing potentially eternal separation and death to those who dare to confront a spiritual entity Who has no weaknesses, namely the Lord God, Jehovah.
Almighty God clearly spelled out His stance on the Jewish people; His statement in Genesis 12:1-3 was spoken to Abraham as a way to express His love for, and devotion to, Abraham and all those who would proceed from his loins. But it was also meant to be a warning to all the nations of the world regarding how they were to treat Abraham and his offspring.
God’s statement in Genesis 12:3, “And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed”, is much more serious than it sounds. The words ”and curse him that curseth thee”, in the latter part of that verse are more accurately translated, “And I will bless him that blesseth thee and him that curseth thee, I will execrate and utterly destroy”. Use a good dictionary to see the full definition of the word “execrate”. It clearly illustrates just how serious God is in His love and protection of His chosen earthly people. See https://drrichswier.com/2023/01/27/genesis-12-1-3-is-gods-court-now-in-session/
The words of Genesis 12:1-3 have been recorded for nearly 6000 years and there are many instances in the Bible that prove God was very serious when He spoke them to Abraham. All those who chose to disrespect and curse the Jews, deciding to go head to head with God regarding their treatment of the Jewish people, learned the hard way that God fully upholds His word. Now, we are seeing whole nations, including the United States, ignore God’s promise to Abraham and initiate a spiritual head to head confrontation with Jehovah.
People on this Earth are flesh and blood beings who seem to fully understand the dangers of head to head physical battles, such as in certain sports games, so why do they so easily enter into a much more dangerous and deadly confrontation with God, a Spiritual Being who has no weaknesses and truly cannot be harmed by anything, physical or spiritual?
In today’s chaotic and confused world, I see the greatest need as that of trying to make people understand that, whether they want to believe it, there IS a supreme God who is a Spirit Being and Who has always provided revelations of Himself, through His recorded word, in an effort to keep people from making decisions that will bring them harm, and possibly death. However, each individual person has been given the right to either accept God at His word, to believe that He is Who He claims to be and to either honor Him as such, or to ignore Him and continue to place themselves in harm’s way.
The most important question that needs to be asked by every living person is this: Is God Who He says He is and is he totally immune to any harm from any source? If so, then how foolish is it to continue on a path that places oneself in direct head to head contention with Him?
Saul, who was a staunch Pharisee, and no follower of Jesus, in his quest for power, and in defense of his zeal to be a true Pharisee, sought out all those who followed Jesus of Nazareth in order to kill them. On a journey to Damascus in his quest to destroy the Church located there, Saul encountered that same Jesus Who knocked him to the ground, saying to Saul: Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?” Saul, being blinded by a light from heaven, asked, “Who art thou, Lord?” Jesus answered thus: “I am Jesus whom thou persecutest; it is hard (difficult) for thee to kick against the pricks” (Act 9:1-5). Saul, who later became known as Saint Paul, the one chosen by Jesus to take the gospel to the gentiles, learned firsthand how dangerous it can be to go head to head with a superior spiritual being. Fortunately for him, Paul heeded the words of Jesus and was led into Damascus where a Christian named Ananias prayed for him and Saul regained his sight. From that point on, Saul turned from being a Christ-hater and became the man chosen to write two-thirds of the New Testament! In a complete turnabout, he avoided the danger of continuing down his path to utter destruction.
Nations Against God
We are truly witnessing the times spoken of by Jesus and recorded in Matthew 24. Jesus provided all the signs His church would need to determine the approach of the end times and to be aware of the closeness of His return to take His church, His Body, home to be with Him forever.
Those who continue to ignore the warnings of God’s judgment and continue to go head to head against the Almighty God and His Christ, will then know the utter foolishness of living a life trying to fight against God. He cannot be defeated and those who fight against Him cannot win.
There are entire nations now acting as though they have the upper hand in their battle to defeat God, but their end is eternal torment in a lake of fire, the place created for Satan and his demons. It will be a sad sight when they stand silent before the Mighty King of the universe, Jesus the Messiah, having no defense against His accusations, knowing their fate for eternity has been sealed.
They will know in that moment that their policy of squaring off against God, head to head, was not only an act of the utmost foolishness, but was one that could have been prevented by repenting of their sin and asking God for His forgiveness.
The Inner Search
Have you examined your own heart, mind and soul to see if you are in the dangerous place of fighting head to head against a Being Who cannot be defeated? If not, and you are unsure where you stand today, please conduct that search and allow God to show you what He sees when HE does the search of your soul. If what He shows you frightens you, then you have some very serious decisions to make.
Satan/Lucifer made his decision to rebel against God and place himself in a position from which he cannot escape: his eternal fate is sealed, and he knows it. He has lost his “game’ and is awaiting the fulfillment of God’s judgment.
Time is indeed growing short and God is waiting for YOUR decision.
I implore you to make the right decision and end up on the winning side.
Blessings and Maranatha!
