PASTOR WAYNE WRITES:
July 26, 2024
Dear Heritage Family,
The Psalmist wrote: “Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness endures to all generations.” That verse may be one we need to remember and recall daily as we face an unknown and uncertain future.
The title of this Sunday’s sermon is “Raising our Ebenezer.” While the conception of the sermon was based on the song, “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” by Robert Robinson, the biblical background is based upon an event in 1 Samuel 7, where Samuel set up a stone and named it “Ebenezer,” saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”
We will ask each family to erect such a stone of remembrance in their home, commemorating the many times they have seen God’s hand of protection, provision, and promise, and giving them the assurance that as God has led them in the past, so will He lead them in the future.
If you view the sermons on our website, www.theheritagechurch.org, you can click on the sermon title on the second page to find the sermon study guide in another format. The Sunday morning live stream starts at 10:00 AM.
We encourage you to share these study guides with others. Your role in spreading the message of God’s love and grace is not just important; it’s vital. We are eager to hear how God uses these sermons to encourage others in their spiritual growth, and we value your part in this mission. Your efforts are crucial in spreading the love and grace of God, and we sincerely appreciate your contribution.

THE WATCHMEN’S REPORT
News Stories that Connect with Biblical Prophecy
By Wayne J. Edwards, July 20, 2024
My Fellow Watchmen,
One does not have to be a prophet to realize that utter chaos is about to break loose in America. Contrary to what most people think, while evil people will carry out evil actions, the fact is that God is using this to get the attention of His people, to wake us out of our apathy and unconcern.
Sadly, I’m afraid that such an awakening will require a lot more shaking. When a young man attempts to assassinate the former President of the United States on a Saturday afternoon, and the majority of pastors do not even mention it in their sermons on Sunday or call the people to a particular time of prayer, I cannot fathom what it is going to take to get our attention.
According to those watching the trends, unless God intervenes, we can expect more hardship in 2025 than we have experienced this year. Because God’s people will not turn from their sins, and they have not heeded the warnings He has already sent, we should expect:
· Civil unrest: Regardless of which party wins the election, the opposing party will unleash chaos throughout the nation.
· Economic hardship – a severe financial crisis that will affect all the nations of the world.
· Famine – Famines are already breaking out all over the globe, not because of global warming, but because of government intervention.
· Increased Natural Disasters – floods, earthquakes, and tsunamis in places that have never experienced them.
Beloved, these are not prophetic visions – they reflect the pattern of God’s discipline of His people in the Scriptures. Consider God’s word to His people in Amos 3:
“Hear this word that the Lord has spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth; Therefore, I will punish you for all your iniquities.” If there is calamity in a city, will not the Lord have done it? (vs.7) Surely the Lord God does nothing, unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. A lion has roared! Who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken! Who can but prophesy?”
