PASTOR WAYNE WRITES:
December 5, 2025
Chapters 23 and 24 of the Book of Joshua contain his two farewell addresses. In chapter 23, Joshua reminded the Israelites of all that the Lord had done for them, in driving out the Canaanites and giving them the Promised Land, and, therefore, their duty to remain faithful to Him by living in agreement with the Abrahamic covenant.
The Apostle Paul gave Christians the same challenge in his letters to the churches: As those whom God saved by His grace alone, by our faith alone, we are called to be absolutely loyal to the One who has been, and is, absolutely faithful to us, as an example and a pattern for those generations behind us.
· Colossians 1:10-11 – “See that you walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His might.”
· Philippians 3:16-18 – “Let us keep living by that same standard to which we have attained. Brethren, follow my example, and observe those who walk according to the pattern you have in us.”
The title of this Sunday’s sermon is: “Victorious Christian Living: Our Loyalty to Our Lord.”

THE WATCHMEN’S REPORT
News Stories that Connect with Biblical Prophecy
By Wayne J. Edwards, December 6, 2025
My Fellow Watchmen,
The Gallup Organization has put together a World Emotional Health report card, and its findings are not promising. According to the survey, about 40% of adults say they worry daily, while 37% are stressed, 26% are sad, and 22% are angry. These numbers are all up from those recorded 10 years ago. The slide in global emotional health correlates almost precisely with the relentless decline in religious faith in nearly every part of the world.
Yes, church attendance in the U.S. continues to decline, and until drastic changes are made to re-establish the PURPOSE of attending church, it will continue to decline. For the last 60 years, local churches have tried every carnal means to attract carnal people, and if you look at the mega-churches, it may appear that the entertainment-based, doctrinally-lite strategy has worked. However, dig a bit deeper, as I said in my book, “Raising the Standard,” you will find:
“For every gain that was made by some manipulative method to reach the lost, there was a loss of doctrinal and theological truth, as basic convictions were compromised by the very method itself. For every gain in converts by the schemes of men, there was a lack of spiritual understanding on the part of the new believer. That lack of discipleship led to a lack of spiritual growth and, therefore, the loss of true, biblical worship. The loss of biblical certainty and theological integrity negated the gains in attendance and conversions across all these extremes. But more importantly, the glory that rightfully belonged to Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ alone, was diverted to man.”
The true purpose of a local church facility is to serve as a “house” where “believers” assemble on the Lord’s Day to WORSHIP GOD, not evangelism, entertainment, or even to warn people of the continual cultural decline. While evangelism and the proclamation of the Word of God are vital, the focus of true worship is upon God, and not the needs of man. Nearly half of all Americans are worried, stressed, sad, and angry, simply because of their lack of faith in God.
