OLD PARDON THE SON OF REPRIEVE
In my research for yesterdays post, I stumbled across this poem by Banjo Paterson about the horse Pardon. He won another cup, not the Melbourne Cup, which explains why I could not find him listed in the winners.
Keeper Paul is teaching us this morning, I believe it is about Creation and Evolution, my favourite subject. This poem makes another different reading by “Banjo” Paterson.

Banjo Paterson – such earthy language, and wonderful capacity for discerning the spirit and culture of “the bush”…both nature and the people.
My mother-in-law loved Paterson’s poetry, and before she died she and I enjoyed reading aloud out of the same book the fellow in the above video is reading from. Our favourite was “Mulga Bills’ Bicycle”. If interested, the link is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWCYdY0fLDM
I find he does something to my monkey mind Paul. He has something really special! I will feature Mulga Bill next week, in memory of your Mother in Law. Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
