Here are some uplifting short stories which have been sent to me. The sender requested that all names be removed for security reasons, reasons which are pretty obvious to any thinking person. This monkey finds it incredible that in this so called “modern evolved” age humans can still treat each other so badly, and yet there are incidents where the light shines in to give hope for the future promised by belief in Christ.

FROM A CORRESPONDENT IN ISRAEL:

My Russian Jewish friend just called me and told me about 3 miracles.  She has a connection with Russian Jews whose husbands are in the IDF.  She calls me every once in a while, and tells me what the Lord is doing in Israel to lift my spirits and encourage me to keep praying. Pray for her please – God knows her name.  Here is what she told me today.  Keep praying for the IDF and for their families…this is such a stressful time for the wives and children as well.

1. There was a small group of IDF, they were in GAZA at night and getting ready to check out one of the tunnels.  The commander went in first and was gone a bit.  He found a Rabbi in the tunnel and asked what he was doing there and said they’d get him out.  The Rabbi just said, “Get out of here, get out now.”  Meanwhile radio connection was lost with the commander, so one of the IDF above went looking for his commander and saw the Rabbi and was about to say let’s get him out of here, when the Rabbi said to them both in a strong and deliberate commanding voice, “Get out now.”  They went to go, turned around to beg him to come with and the Rabbi was gone.  They left, in fact, they ran and the entire tunnel blew sky high.  The one soldier’s wife called the Rabbi in Russian, “a messenger from G-d.”  One of the IDF soldiers was secular, atheist, and now he goes to shul (synagogue) and doesn’t barbeque on Yom Kippur anymore…he worships the Lord
2. Hamas had a bunch of hostages, one of Hamas was getting ready to rape one of the young women.  The head guy said, “Don’t.” and told him to leave her alone.  When they were doing other things, the head guy whispered to the girl, “Run.”  She did, she escaped and told the story.  We have no idea why he did that…but he saved her life.
3. Another Hamas guy had another young woman at a different location and he was enamoured with her, so he didn’t rape her.  He told her that he was going to marry her and they would live together and have children in Gaza.  She said, “Not without my mother.”  So the guy found her mother and brought her to the gal.  Some days later they were chosen to be exchanged/released and both the girl and the mother came home.  Why the Hamas fellow thought the Jewish girl needed to be his wife, we have no idea, but he wanted her.

It’s difficult for me to understand her on the phone, but I made her repeat things for me…I think I got everything right.
