PASTOTR WAYNE WRITES:

Dear Heritage Family,
The American Heritage Dictionary defines “authentic” as an item or a statement worthy of one’s trust. God has called us to be authentic in our Christian faith, to be true representatives of Jesus Christ as we walk in this world.
According to every evangelistic organization, those who know they are away from God are yearning to see a true, blood-bought believer, one who is a devoted disciple of Christ, one who will not waiver in their convictions, for while the harvest is ripe, the laborers are few, and the greatest hindrance to effective evangelism today is a false believer, one who can explain their version of the plan of salvation, but who has never had that personal experience with Christ as their Savior.
This Sunday morning, I will continue our new series of sermons on “How Should We Then Live?” – a study of the Epistles of Peter. The title of this sermon is: “In Search of Authentic Christianity,” # 2.
If you view the sermons on our website, www.theheritagechurch.org, you may click on the sermon title on the second page and find the sermon study guide in another format.
THANK YOU FOR FORWARDING THESE STUDY GUIDES TO OTHERS.

PASTOR WANES NEWS NOTES CONNECTING PROPHECY TO OUR DAY:
May 11, 2024
My Fellow Watchmen,
While America has never been a “Christian Nation” in the purest sense, our nation has enjoyed seasons of peace, prosperity, and the awareness of God’s blessings. While no nation is without its faults, America has enjoyed periods of esprit de corps, where we put our personal differences aside to achieve a common goal, including the defense of our freedom. I’m thankful to have grown up in a small, rural, close-knit community where we loved God, loved our country, cared for our neighbors, and lived by standards of the Christian way of life.
In that regard, you can understand my dismay when, on October 30, 2008, Barack Hussein Obama II told a crowd in Columbia, Missouri, “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” For 233 years, the overwhelming majority of us had enjoyed our way of life. We had our challenges, but we were the envy of the world. In fact, after the two world wars, Korea, and Viet-Nam, the goal was to expand trade with other nations, to help them build their economy through education, corporate capitalism and each person’s personal pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness. This also opened the doors for churches to send missionaries to share the gospel, along with doctors, teachers, and other professionals.
Well, here we are, fifteen years later. For all practical purposes, the U.S. Constitution, which was written by our nation’s Founding Fathers “in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity,” has been replaced with “Rules for Radicals,” written by Saul D. Alinsky as a primer for those who are disillusioned by our government “of the people, by the people, and for the people,” and want to affect “constructive” social change by the “destruction” of our way of life. The America most of us once enjoyed is unrecognizable, and what ought to be crystal clear to every Christian is that President Biden’s goal is to finish what President Obama began – to destroy America as it was founded and to build it back as a Marxist-Socialist nation.
Christians, God’s sovereignty does not free us from our responsibility to stand firm against the rise of evil. In Colossians 2:8, the Apostle Paul said, “See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ.” In Isaiah 59:19, the prophet said, “When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will raise up a standard against him,” and that “standard” is the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Whatever happens in the November election will either continue the rise of evil or perhaps set us on the path of repentance that could restore our nation’s righteousness. In that regard, many people question Mr. Trump’s moral values, and we should. However, we are not voting for the man or woman listed on the ticket; we are voting for what they have declared as their vision for the future of America, for apart from the Rapture of the Church, we must live here, and do our best to make it a better place for the generations behind us.
