PASTOR WAYNE WRITES:
February 14, 2026
Watchman Nee, a Chinese Christian leader was recognized by Christianity Today as one of the 100 most influential Christians of the 20th century. In one of his 72 books, Nee wrote:
“Outside of Christ, I am only a sinner, but in Christ, I am saved. Outside of Christ, I am empty; in Christ, I am full. Outside of Christ, I am weak; inside of Christ, I am strong. Outside of Christ, I cannot; in Christ, I am more than able. Outside of Christ, I have been defeated; in Christ, I am already victorious. How meaningful are the words, “in Christ!”
Beloved, if the Jesus you believe in hasn’t radically and drastically transformed your life from the inside out, you are believing in the Jesus of man’s religion, not the Jesus of the Bible. One can no more meet the Son of God and remain the same than a person can gaze directly into the sun and not be blinded by its glory.
The truth is, an encounter with the Lord Jesus will bring about a total transformation of life. The purpose of the gospels is to show us how those who truly met Jesus were completely changed – the blind received sight, the lame walked, outcasts were embraced, sinners were forgiven, the ashamed were restored, and the broken were made whole. From the abused woman at the well to the man who was possessed by demons – those who truly met Jesus were never the same, and it is still true today. As the Apostle Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:17, “Therefore, if ANY MAN be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things become new.”

THE WATCHMEN’S REPORT
News Stories that Connect with Biblical Prophecy
By Wayne J. Edwards, February 15, 2026
My Fellow Watchmen,
The author of Proverbs 9:10 and 17 declares, “The FEAR of God is the BEGINNING of wisdom.” In this context, “fear” signifies reverence and respect, akin to the honor we owe our parents. A sincere reverence for a Holy God directs us away from actions that would bring dishonor to Him. The Holy Spirit cultivates that spirit of discernment, allowing us to interpret our times and respond with wisdom, as exemplified by the men of Issachar, who “understood the times and knew what Israel should do.” (1 Chronicles 12:22)
This underscores the necessity of maintaining a sensitive conscience. A seared conscience, as described in 1 Timothy 4:1-2, loses its sensitivity to sin and no longer experiences conviction, shame, or guilt. I contend that Western culture, in general, has reached this state of hard-heartedness, partly due to the decline in consistent, expository preaching of the Word of God, which is “Sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)
Do you possess a seared or a sensitive conscience? In its mildest form, a seared conscience manifests as a lack of empathy or concern for the impact of one’s actions on others. In its most severe form, it may involve justifying or redefining sins to render them acceptable. If not addressed, this condition can result in disregard for the truth of God’s Word, heightened susceptibility to more serious sins and false teachings, and resistance to the influence of the Holy Spirit.
It is crucial in the present era to cultivate a spirit of discernment. This can be achieved by remaining grounded in the Word of God, upholding allegiance to the Lord Jesus, participating in accountable fellowship with other believers, and remaining committed to the foundational doctrines of the Christian faith. Christians must be able to distinguish genuine truth from mere appearances or else they will be easily deceived by the Antichrist, who is just waiting in the wings!!
