Does anyone know the name of this dinosaur?” I projected an image of a fearsome beast onto the screen during my presentation in a small mining town in outback Australia. A young boy at the back thrust his hand into the air. I pointed to him, and he said, “Triceratops.”His parents, next to him, looked so proud of their son. 

“Wow! How old are you, young man?” He held up four fingers, the way young kids show their age. His parents, next to him, looked so proud of their son. Then I asked the audience, “Does anyone know when this dinosaur lived on the earth?”

Again, the boy thrust his hand into the air. I pointed. He said, “A hundred million years ago.”

“Wow! Where did you learn that?”

“At pre-school.”You will discover that, more and more, you are looking at your world differently from the prevailing culture. You will be able to say, “Aha. Now I see how that works.” And you will be able to help someone else see it too.

I was amazed. It reinforced to me how dinosaurs were being used to advance the evolutionary worldview in our culture, even to young kids. In the rest of my talk, I presented a radically different perspective, showing how the Bible makes sense of dinosaurs. They appeared on the earth, not 100 million years ago, but during Creation Week when God created them, along with the original kinds of all the other animals, about 6,000 years ago. The Bible reveals what they originally ate, how they related to people, and why we find their fossils all over the world. The audience lapped it up. They found it so refreshing.

Not only dinosaurs: the Bible gives us a new way of looking at everything. It makes sense. It is not surprising that the Bible is the most popular book in the world. It’s been in that position for centuries. It transforms nations. And this issue of Creation will give you a totally different perspective on the world.

In this issue you will find some amazing articles that feature dinosaurs. One about their eggs and nests (p. 15); another about what happened to them (p. 46), and still another mentions how the Chinese called them dragons and used them for decoration, including on this brilliant ancient invention (p. 50).

You will enjoy the interview with prominent composer Michael Dooley, who experienced a change of perspective in his life—twice (p. 20). His story illustrates how biblical creation is not just some academic issue but has very real personal impacts.

There is so much of interest in this issue; every article provides a new angle on life. When you look at it, you can see that even the hooves of baby ponies were amazingly designed (p. 56). The comets in our solar system have a special message (p. 41). And surprise, surprise, those supposedly brutish Neanderthals keep turning out to be more and more like people today than they have been portrayed (p. 38).
