HOW DO THE MINK GET THEIR YOUNG?
“The same way as the young get their Mink” is the answer to this riddle. I have NO IDEA why I thought of this, but this morning I recalled hearing tell of a vivacious and broad-minded married English woman, who, once a year, in the “swinging” sixties would “rent” herself out to a wealthy man for the weekend. When asked why she did this, she replied, “Because I like to have a new mink coat every year”. Her success in finding clients relied on her absolute discretion. I cannot help reflecting how times have changed, perhaps that is why it suddenly came to my monkey mind?

Very interesting and thoughtful post Chugley. I’m glad I don’t wear mink coats!! 😎
Yes, I feel jolly sorry for the mink myself, very glad Chimp coats never came into fashion! Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
“Discretion” – such a valuable virtue in any relationship, and sadly it has taken a back seat in modern politics…and in too much of our interactions.
Here are a few proverbs/ sayings I found re “discretion” to remind us of how much we’re missing out on these days from people who should know better –
* Discretion in speech is more important than eloquence.
* An ounce of discretion is worth a pound of learning.
* Discretion is the perfection of reason, and a guide to us in all the duties of life.
* Words should be weighed not counted.
Some pearls of wisdom here!
Very good as usual Paul! Many thanks. Gibber! Gibber! Chugley
