GOD’S CALL FOR HIS PEOPLE TO LIVE IN OBEDIENCE
Pastor Wayne Edwards continues his sermon series “How should we then Live? The Service begins at approximately 21 minutes. Be sure to print off the News items that illustrate prophecy being fulfilled at the bottom of this preamble. It is a must read for anybody with an operational brain trying to understand the times in which you all live. May I repeat “Look up! Your Redemption draweth nigh.” Luke 21:28.

PASTOR WAYNE WRITES:
Dear Heritage Family,
The next six months may be one of the most dangerous times in our nation’s history. We are on the verge of a revolution, and as the likelihood of a massive sweeping Trump victory increases, so does the probability that we may see violence spread like wildfire.
However, regardless of the level of unruliness in the world, God has called His people to be holy. He expects those He has redeemed by the shed blood of His Son to walk differently from the rest of the world. Therefore, regardless of the challenges we may face, which may include severe persecution, God has called us to live our lives in such a way that others can see Christ in us and be drawn to Him.
Sunday, we return to our sermon series, “How Should We Then Live?” – a study of the Epistles of Peter. The title of this sermon is “The Validation of Our Salvation – God’s call for His people to live in obedience.”
If you view the sermons on our website, www.theheritagechurch.org, you can click on the sermon title on the second page to find the sermon study guide in another format.
We encourage you to share these study guides with others. Your role in spreading the message of God’s love and grace is vital, and we are eager to hear how God is using these sermons to encourage others in their personal spiritual growth.

THE WATCHMEN’S REPORT
News Stories that Connect with Biblical Prophecy
SPECIAL EDITION
By Wayne J. Edwards, July 6, 2024
My Fellow Watchmen,
According to the few news sources I trust, which excludes all mainstream news outlets, we would be well advised to prepare for “troublesome times” in the next six months. The more it appears there could be a real conservative resurgence in America, which would include a massive win for former President Trump, the more likelihood of chaos and confusion across our country as the left spews out its hatred against any hint of limitation of their freedoms, and the more likelihood of increased war between Israel and Iran, Russia and Ukraine, and China and Taiwan, as our political leaders incite these wars to help camouflage their evil deeds as they exit from their positions of leadership. Prepare accordingly!
However, the most significant battle we as Christians will face is within our hearts against what may appear to be our human enemies. While the physical fight must take place, and indeed every born-again believer must be willing to stand firm in what we believe about God and in defense of our nation’s heritage, as the Apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:10-18, God has called those He saved to be prepared spiritually, to be equipped with the whole armor of God, to put on the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit. By doing so, we can stand firm against the schemes of the enemy and remain steadfast in our faith. Just as our Founding Fathers showed remarkable faith as they forged a new nation that was grounded in Christian principles, so must we be battle-ready to face the conflicts ahead to defend and uphold them.
Sun Tzu was a Chinese military general, strategist, philosopher, and writer who lived during the Eastern Zhou period. Sun Tzu is traditionally credited as the author of The Art of War, an influential work of military strategy that has affected both Western and East Asian philosophy and army thought. Sun Tzu said:
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained, you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
Remember, “Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12). Since this is a spiritual war, perhaps our best weapons are prayer and fasting.
