PASTOR WAYNE WRITES:
April 18, 2025
Dear Heritage Family and Friends,
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the centerpiece of the Christian Faith.
In 1 Corinthians 15:1-58, the Apostle Paul wrote, “If Christ has not been raised from the dead, our sins have not been forgiven, our Christian Faith is in vain, there is no meaning and purpose to this life, and we have no hope for our future.” However, for Christians, the resurrection of Jesus Christ is not just a historical event to be celebrated; it is the foundation for our daily lives, bringing us an unshakable hope and a profound purpose that guides our spiritual journey.
In John 14:19, Jesus said, “Because I live, ye shall live also.” As the Gaither’s said in that great song of hope, “Because He lives, we can face tomorrow!” Even though the future is uncertain, we can find security in the certainty that God holds the future. His control over our lives is absolute, and He can make this life worth living for all who will receive His Son as their Savior and Lord.
Linda and I look forward to celebrating our Lord’s resurrection with you this Sunday at Heritage, as we continue our sermon series, “Jesus’ Journey to Jerusalem.” The title of this sermon is, “From Golgotha to Glory.”

THE WATCHMEN’S REPORT
By Wayne J. Edwards, April 12, 2025
My Fellow Watchmen,
I received this email from a dear friend who moved away from Perry a while back. She said, “Thank you so much for the wonderful study on Wednesday evenings! I also watch on Sundays often since these local churches are ramping up for Easter! The one we have been attending is giving out Easter Blitz invitations to invite folks to church. A prize will be given for the most cards handed out!! It’s still hard to believe! The other churches are having carnivals, giving bikes, and having egg hunts. You name it!!”
Now, compare that with this report from Michael Snyder regarding the global persecution of Christians. “Tens of thousands of Christians have been murdered, and thousands of women and girls have been abducted and subjected to sexual violence. In addition to being forcibly ‘married,’ girls abducted by terrorists have reportedly been used as human shields, or sent to work as sex slaves. Most of the 100 million Christians in China worship in “house churches,” but when a house church is found, the leaders are arrested, and many of them are never seen again. It is against the law for a child under the age of 18 to participate in religious activities.”
In 2 Thessalonians 2:7, the Apostle Paul said, “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.” Very soon, the true Church of the Lord Jesus Christ will be removed from the earth via the Rapture, and while the Holy Spirit will remain to draw the elect to be saved, He will no longer restrain the rise of sin and lawlessness and then the “lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.” (2 Thessalonians 2:8) The evidence of the Antichrist’s arrival is right before our eyes, which means we are a breath away from the rapture of the Church. However, there are none so blind as those who will not see.
This week, as we revisit the historical narrative of our Savior’s death, burial, and resurrection, it is vitally important that we make sure we have accepted the One True Christ as our personal Savior and Lord and that we are living for Him daily. Beloved, do not be deceived by the false gospel of today’s Laodicean churches that focus on how one’s faith in Jesus can help us have our best life now. The call of salvation is to fully surrender our lives unto the Lordship of Christ, and to live each moment with the expectation of seeing Jesus in the next moment! Maranatha!
