PASTOR WAYNE WRITES:
April 11, 2025
Dear Heritage Family and Friends,
The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt and said, on the tenth of this month, every man shall take for himself an unblemished lamb, a male, of the first year, and keep it until the fourteenth day of the month. Then the whole congregation of Israel shall kill it at twilight, take some of its blood, and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses, for I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night and strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast. The blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are, for when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be on you to destroy you when I strike the land of Egypt.
If Jesus was the Lamb of God who would take away the world’s sin, He had to have been spotless and without blemish, and He was. If Jesus was, as the Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 5:7, “Our Passover Lamb,” He had to have fulfilled the pattern of the Law to the fullest, and He did, for at the same time the Priests were sacrificing the Passover lambs for the people, commemorating God’s deliverance of their forefathers from Egypt, God was sacrificing His Lamb to deliver us from our sins.
Therefore, Jesus was crucified at 3:00 PM on a Wednesday, the 13th of Nisan, for the observance of Passover began at 6:00 PM, and continued through late Saturday. Jesus was in the tomb three days and three nights, just as He said He would be, and He arose from the grave sometime after 6:00 PM on Saturday, which began the first day of the week.
Now, why is this specific date so important? We will explain that in our next sermon in the series, “Jesus’ Journey to Jerusalem.” The title of this sermon is, “From Gethsemane to Golgotha.”

THE WATCHMEN’S REPORT
By Wayne J. Edwards, April 11, 2025
My Fellow Watchmen,
I received this email from a dear friend who moved away from Perry a while back. She said, “Thank you so much for the wonderful study on Wednesday evenings! I also watch on Sundays often since these local churches are ramping up for Easter! The one we have been attending is giving out Easter Blitz invitations to invite folks to church. A prize will be given for the most cards handed out!! It’s still hard to believe! The other churches are having carnivals, giving bikes, and having egg hunts. You name it!!”
Now, compare that with this report from Michael Snyder regarding the global persecution of Christians. “Tens of thousands of Christians have been murdered, and thousands of women and girls have been abducted and subjected to sexual violence. In addition to being forcibly ‘married,’ girls abducted by terrorists have reportedly been used as human shields, or sent to work as sex slaves. Most of the 100 million Christians in China worship in “house churches,” but when a house church is found, the leaders are arrested, and many of them are never seen again. It is against the law for a child under the age of 18 to participate in religious activities.”
In 2 Thessalonians 2:7, the Apostle Paul said, “For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.” Very soon, the true Church of the Lord Jesus Christ will be removed from the earth via the Rapture, and while the Holy Spirit will remain to draw the elect to be saved, He will no longer restrain the rise of sin and lawlessness and then the “lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the breath of His mouth and destroy with the brightness of His coming.” (2 Thessalonians 2:8) The evidence of the Antichrist’s arrival is right before our eyes, which means we are a breath away from the rapture of the Church. However, there are none so blind as those who will not see.
This week, as we revisit the historical narrative of our Savior’s death, burial, and resurrection, it is vitally important that we make sure we have accepted the One True Christ as our personal Savior and Lord and that we are living for Him daily. Beloved, do not be deceived by the false gospel of today’s Laodicean churches that focus on how one’s faith in Jesus can help us have our best life now. The call of salvation is to fully surrender our lives unto the Lordship of Christ, and to live each moment with the expectation of seeing Jesus in the next moment! Maranatha!
