Dear Heritage Family and Friends,
The Apostle Paul was about 30 years old when the Lord arrested him on that road to Damascus, and he was around 60 when he was beheaded. The Book of Acts is filled with the incredible things God was able to do through this man’s life and ministry.
- Paul made four missionary journeys. The first three are recorded in the Book of Acts, and the fourth is alluded to in his prison epistles.
- In addition to the thousands of miles Paul traveled by sea, Paul traveled over 10,000 miles by foot.
According to his testimony in 2 Corinthians 11:25-27, while he knew he was in the center of God’s will, these trips were filled with troubles and trials. Paul said he was beaten with rods three times, stoned once, suffered a shipwreck, and spent a night and a day treading water in the sea. He was attacked by robbers, by heathens, his fellow citizens, by false teachers, and false believers. He spent days and nights without food or water and sleeping under the stars without proper clothing. In other words, having died to himself, Paul had one passion: the furtherance of the gospel.
The theme of our new sermon series from Paul’s Epistle to the Philippians is “The Epistle of Joy.” The title of this sermon is: “For the Furtherance of the Gospel.”

THE WATCHMEN’S REPORT
By Wayne J. Edwards, March 1, 2025
My Fellow Watchmen,
In Luke 17:1-2 and Matthew 18:67, Jesus did not mince words in his warning to those who would put a stumbling block in the way of those seeking the real meaning and purpose of their lives. Jesus said, “It were better for him that a millstone was hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.”
A stumbling block was deliberately put into the pathway to cause a traveler to trip over.
· In Matthew 16:23, Jesus warned His followers to beware of “false counsel.”
· In Romans 14:13, the Apostle Paul said that misusing our “liberty” could lead someone into sin.
· In Romans 16:17, Paul warned his readers about “false teachers.”
Jesus said the stumbling blocks would always be there, but “woe to those who set the stumbling block in their way!” In other words, while it is wicked to commit a sin, it is far greater evil for our sins to lead others into sin. For sure, we live in a fallen world, and the traps of sin will inevitably be in our pathway. But Jesus said, “WOE” to the person who sets the traps, for when they stand before God, it would have been better for them if they had not been born.
That statement came to my mind as I read two articles in this edition of The Watchmen’s Report.
· How 9.3% of all adults and 22.7% of Generation Z (age 13-28) now identify as LGBTQ. This is a record high, and while each person will be held accountable for their sins, “woe” be to those in our public schools, our colleges, and our universities, those in the entertainment industry, those in political offices that have sponsored legislation approving of such abominable behaviors, and especially those church leaders and false teachers who have failed to teach the biblical truth about this issue. They have lied and continue to lie to our children.
The deliberate repackaging of Jesus by today’s “Christian leaders” to make Him more acceptable to those who want the assurance of heaven and a friend who will never leave them, but they have no intentions of giving up their sins. This is not just a distortion. It’s a dangerous misrepresentation of the very Son of God. As the article says, today’s gospel is not “come and die to yourself,” it’s come and find a Jesus that fits you. It isn’t “take up your cross,” it’s take up your cause. It isn’t “surrender your life unto the Lordship of Christ,” it’s using Jesus to have your best life now.
WARNING TO PARENTS! Would you deliberately and intentionally let your children step on a rattlesnake, a landmine, in quicksand, or even in a muddy pond? Would you allow them to eat poisoned food or breathe poisoned air? Then why are you allowing them to be brainwashed by our corrupt culture?
Thank you for sharing these news reports with those you think might be interested. We would love to hear your thoughts!
